Does SurgeShield® protect against a direct lightning strike?
Nothing protects against a direct lightning strike. Quality surge protection equipment helps block surges caused by indirect strikes.
Does SurgeShield® protect my electronics?
SurgeShield® covers appliances only. Surges can also reach sensitive electronics through other paths, so use plug-in surge suppressors for added protection, or consider the Electronics Surge Protection℠ program or the bundle.
How long does installation take, and do I need to be home?
On average, it takes between ten and fifteen minutes to install. You don't need to be present as long as your meter is accessible. Power will be off for 10–15 minutes during the installation.
When does my coverage begin?
Protection begins once the SurgeShield® device is installed at your meter.
How soon do I need to file a claim?
Claims must be submitted within thirty (30) calendar days of the discovery of the damaged equipment.
Can I cancel?
Yes, you can cancel anytime. You'll receive a full refund if you cancel within seven (7) days of the installation; after that, 30 days' advance notice is required.
How do I sign up?
Visit a BrandsMart USA store or call 888-802-6641 and ask a sales associate to sign you up for SurgeShield®. It can't be added to an online order on BrandsMart.com. Find a BrandsMart USA store near you.
