8K TVs

An 8K TV has about four times the pixels of a 4K set and roughly 33 million in total. It is the top end of what the TV market currently builds, and BrandsMart USA keeps a small, carefully chosen 8K selection rather than a wall of it.

This page is deliberately honest about who should buy one. If you are shopping for a very large screen and you sit close to it, 8K is worth looking at. If you are not, a better 4K Ultra HD TV will almost always be the smarter use of the same money.

Why Buy Your 8K TV From BrandsMart USA

  • Showrooms in Florida and Georgia. An 8K set is a purchase you should see first. Find your nearest store and stand at your real viewing distance.
  • Friendly, expert help in the showroom. Our TV team works with these sets every day and will happily talk through whether 8K makes sense for your room, or whether a better 4K set is the smarter buy, in plain language and without pushing you toward the biggest price tag. Tell them the room and the budget, and they will narrow it down.
  • Financing is one of the better reasons to buy here. There is more than one way to spread the cost, and they work differently. The BrandsMart USA credit card carries 0% promotional financing on qualifying purchases, with the length of the term depending on the category and the amount. Katapult lease-to-own needs no credit at all, and you can check your buying power without affecting your credit score. Klarna splits a purchase into interest-free installments with a decision in seconds. Because those are three separate programs rather than one, a route that is not a fit for you does not have to be the end of it.
  • A clear return policy. Our return and refund policy sets out how exchanges and refunds work, including the shorter return window that applies to flat-panel televisions. Worth reading before you buy.
  • Associates who will talk you out of it. If your room does not suit 8K, our team will say so and point you at a better 4K set instead.
  • Delivery, installation and haul-away. Large panels are a two-person job. Review our delivery and installation details before you order.
  • Competitive pricing. Our 110% low price guarantee covers you if you find the same model advertised for less.
Are 8K TVs worth it?

For most shoppers, no, and it is worth saying plainly. Native 8K content barely exists, and at 65 or 75 inches the extra resolution is very hard to see from a normal seating position. Where 8K does earn its place is on very large screens viewed relatively close, and on flagship hardware whose processing, brightness and HDR are a genuine step up.

How many pixels does an 8K TV have?

About 33 million, from a 7680 by 4320 grid. That is four times the pixel count of 4K and sixteen times Full HD. The practical effect is that you can sit closer to a very large screen without seeing structure in the image.

Is there any 8K content to watch?

Very little. There is no 8K broadcast television in the United States, no 8K discs, and the major streaming services do not offer 8K tiers. Some YouTube videos and manufacturer demo material are shot in 8K. Everything else you watch will be upscaled by the TV.

How good is 8K upscaling really?

On a flagship set, genuinely good. The processor analyzes the source and reconstructs detail rather than simply stretching it, and clean 4K material can look sharper and more three-dimensional than it does on a mid-range 4K TV. It cannot rescue a low-bitrate cable feed, though, so bring your worst-case content to the showroom if you can.

Do I need HDMI 2.1 for an 8K TV?

You need it to feed the TV true 8K video, because HDMI 2.1 is the first version with the bandwidth to carry it. For normal 4K viewing, HDMI 2.0 is usually fine. If you have a current-generation console, HDMI 2.1 also gets you 4K at 120Hz, which is a more useful benefit today than 8K input.

Are there 8K OLED TVs?

Not in any practical sense. Current 8K sets use LED backlighting with a quantum-dot layer, which is what lets them hit the brightness that a dense pixel grid needs. If per-pixel black levels matter more to you than resolution, buy a 4K OLED TV instead.

What size do 8K TVs start at?

Most start around 65 to 70 inches, since that is roughly where 8K resolution starts to look sharper than 4K at normal seating distances. The bulk of the selection sits in the 70 to 79-inch range, with 80-inch and larger models available for bigger rooms.

Will my 8K TV be obsolete when 8K content arrives?

Unlikely to be obsolete, but do not buy on that promise. An 8K TV plays everything a 4K TV plays today, and it will keep doing so. Treat any future 8K library as a bonus rather than the reason for the purchase.

Where can I see an 8K TV in person near me?

BrandsMart USA has large showrooms across Florida and Georgia, and 8K models are on display in the TV departments. Find your nearest showroom, stand at the distance your sofa actually sits, and compare the 8K set against a good 4K one before deciding.

What financing options are available on 8K TVs?

Three, and they are worth knowing apart. The BrandsMart USA credit card offers 0% promotional financing on qualifying purchases, and TVs are one of the categories where the longer terms tend to show up. Katapult is lease-to-own with no credit needed, and checking your buying power does not affect your credit score. Klarna splits the cost into interest-free installments and gives a decision in seconds. Current terms are listed on our financing page, and the team in store can tell you what is running.

Is 8K Right for You?

8K makes sense if you recognize yourself here:

  • You are buying an 80-inch or larger screen and your seating is closer than about ten feet, so individual pixels would otherwise be visible.
  • You want the best processing and upscaling a brand makes, because 8K sets sit at the top of the range and get the flagship chip, the brightest panel and the best motion handling.
  • You are building a room around the TV and expect to keep it for a long time.

A very good 4K set is the better buy if:

  • You are shopping at 65 inches or 75 inches, where the extra resolution is hard to see from a sofa.
  • You want the best possible contrast for movies in a dim room. That points to OLED TVs, which are not made in 8K.
  • Your budget matters more than the spec sheet. The same money buys a considerably better LED or QLED set one size class down.

Samsung is the brand that has pushed 8K hardest, and its 8K sets pair the resolution with a quantum-dot LED panel. Compare Samsung 8K TVs first, then look at what else is available across the full brand lineup.

What to Look At on an 8K TV

1. Upscaling and processing

This is the whole ball game. There is very little native 8K content, so almost everything you watch on an 8K TV has been reconstructed by the processor from a 4K or HD source. That makes the chip more important than the panel count. Judge a set on how clean upscaled cable, sports and streaming look, not on the 8K demo loop running in the store.

2. Screen size and seating distance

The gain from 8K only appears when the pixels are large enough or close enough to resolve. On a 65-inch screen at nine feet, almost nobody can tell 8K from 4K. At 85 inches and eight feet, some people can. If your room cannot take a very large panel, the resolution is not doing anything for you.

3. HDMI 2.1 and connections

Full 8K video needs the bandwidth of HDMI 2.1, so check that the inputs you plan to use support it rather than assuming every port on the back does. For 4K content, including 4K at 120Hz on a console, HDMI 2.0 is often enough. Count the ports and note which one carries eARC to your soundbar.

4. HDR, brightness and gaming

8K sets are flagship products, so they generally bring the brightest panels, the most local dimming zones and the widest color coverage a brand offers. That HDR performance is often more visible day to day than the resolution. Gaming features follow the same pattern: expect 4K at 120Hz, variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode as standard.

5. Content, honestly

Native 8K is rare. There is no broadcast 8K in the United States, physical media does not carry it, and streaming services are not delivering it at scale. Some YouTube content and demo material exists. Buy an 8K TV for the hardware it comes with and the upscaling it does, not on the expectation that an 8K content library is arriving soon.

8K, or a better 4K TV for the same money?

For most people the better 4K set wins, and we would rather say so before you order. The same budget one resolution tier down usually buys a brighter panel, more local dimming zones and often a bigger screen, and those three change what you actually see every night in a way a denser pixel grid does not. If contrast in a dark room is what you are chasing, an OLED TV will beat any 8K set outright on black level, because 8K is not manufactured in OLED.

Buy the 8K set if you want a brand's flagship hardware and a room big enough to justify it. These models sit at the top of the range, so they carry the best processor, the highest peak brightness and the most capable LED and quantum-dot panels the maker builds, and the upscaling really is good. Just buy it for the hardware and the screen size rather than for a content library. There is no 8K broadcast in the United States, no 8K discs and no 8K streaming tier.

What screen size do you need for 8K to be worth it?

Treat 8K as a screen-size decision rather than a picture-quality one. At 65 inches from nine feet, essentially nobody separates 8K from 4K in a fair side-by-side, so the resolution is not doing anything for you. The benefit only appears once the pixels are large enough, or your seat close enough, for your eyes to resolve them.

In practice that means 80 inches and larger with seating inside roughly ten feet, where a 4K grid can become visible on bright, detailed material. If the wall will not take a panel that big, or the sofa cannot move closer, buy a 65-inch or 75-inch 4K set and put the difference into brightness and sound. Measure the wall and the doorways before you commit: at this size, getting the panel into the room is a genuine constraint.

Screens are hard to judge from a spec sheet, so it is worth seeing one lit up. Our showrooms let you compare brightness, contrast and motion side by side, and there are eleven of them across South Florida and metro Atlanta.

Each store page has the address, phone number and current showroom hours. You can also find the store nearest you or order online and collect in store.

Buy whichever way suits you. Compare 8K TVs side by side at any of our showrooms across Florida and Georgia, order online and collect in store, or have your new set delivered to your door. Financing is available on qualifying purchases, including a lease-to-own route that needs no credit. Worth seeing in person given the price, and worth comparing against a good 4K set while you are there.
