Home Office Furniture

A home office needs three things to work: a desk at the right height, a chair that supports you through a full day, and enough light that you are not squinting by four in the afternoon. BrandsMart USA carries desks, office chairs, and gaming chairs, and stocks the computers, monitors, and desk lamps that go with them.

Browse the selection below, or see computers, tablets, and home office for the electronics side of the setup.

Shop Home Office Furniture

  • Desks. Writing desks and computer desks for a home office, a study, or a spare bedroom.
  • Office chairs. Task and desk chairs, including mesh-back options for warm rooms.
  • Gaming chairs. High-back racing-style seating that doubles as a desk chair.
  • Desk lamps and task lighting. Carried in furniture accessories and home decor.

If you do not see what you need here, home office electronics carries monitors, peripherals, desk accessories, surge protectors, and power covers for the cable side. Gamers should also look at PC gaming.

Why Buy Your Home Office Furniture from BrandsMart USA

  • Sit in the chair first. Find your nearest store and spend five minutes in a chair you plan to use for eight hours a day. It is the single most useful thing you can do before buying one.
  • The electronics too. Computers, monitors, surge protectors, and PC gaming gear are all in stock, so the desk and what goes on it come from one place.
  • Friendly, expert help in the showroom. Our team will talk through desk height, monitor position, and chair adjustment in plain language, which is most of what an ergonomic setup actually requires.
  • Close to home. Eleven showrooms across South Florida, from Miami to West Palm Beach, and metro Atlanta, with same-day in-store pickup on in-stock items.
  • Three ways to spread the cost. The BrandsMart USA credit card offers special financing on qualifying purchases, with no interest if you pay the promotional balance in full within the promotional period. The term length depends on the category and amount. Katapult is lease-to-own, and you can check your buying power without affecting your credit score. Klarna splits a purchase into installments, with a decision in seconds. Each one underwrites differently, so if one is not a fit, another may be.
  • A clear return policy. Our return and refund policy explains how exchanges and refunds work. Most items can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery or receipt, with some exceptions, so check the terms before delivery day.
  • Competitive pricing. Our low price guarantee covers the difference if you find an identical item for less at a competitor within 30 days of purchase. Exclusions apply.
  • Protect the investment. Our furniture protection plans go beyond the manufacturer's warranty, covering repairs and replacements.
What is the correct desk height for a home office?

Most standard desks are 29 to 30 inches tall. The right height lets your elbows bend to about 90 degrees when you type. If the desk sits too high, raise your chair and use a footrest instead of lifting your shoulders.

How high should my monitor be?

Put the top of the screen at eye level or slightly below, about an arm's length from where you sit. A screen set too low is the most common cause of home office neck strain, and a monitor stand fixes it for very little.

What should I look for in an ergonomic office chair?

Adjustable seat height first, then adjustable lumbar support that meets your lower back, armrests that let your shoulders drop, and a seat depth leaving two to three fingers of space behind your knees. Mesh backs breathe better in warm rooms.

Are gaming chairs good for working all day?

For the right person, yes. Gaming chairs hold you firmly at the sides and usually recline further than a task chair. Most offer less seat-pan and lumbar adjustment, though, and the bucket seat suits some builds better than others, so try one in a showroom before making it your all-day chair.

What size desk do I need for two monitors?

Plan on 60 inches of width or more. A 48-inch desk is fine for one monitor and a laptop, but two screens plus a keyboard and mouse crowd it. Depth counts too: 24 to 30 inches keeps the screens at arm's length.

Where should I put a desk lamp?

Beside the monitor, with the light aimed at the desk rather than the screen. An overhead lamp bounces reflections off the display, and a lamp behind the monitor shines straight into your eyes.

Do standing desks actually help?

Only if you switch between sitting and standing, the gain comes from moving every 30 to 45 minutes, not from standing all day, which creates its own problems. For most people, a well-fitted chair does more than a moving desk.

How do I fit a home office into a bedroom corner?

A 48-inch desk fits a single monitor and a laptop. Put it perpendicular to the window to avoid glare and reflections, use wall shelves above it instead of drawers beside it, and run one cable to a single surge protector underneath.

Does BrandsMart USA sell office desks and chairs?

Yes. BrandsMart USA carries office desks, computer desks, office chairs, and gaming chairs, online and in our showrooms. The computers, tablets, and home office department also carries monitors, peripherals, and desk accessories.

Do office desks come assembled?

Most desks ship in cartons and need assembly. Office chairs usually arrive part-assembled, and you need to fit the base, casters, and gas lift—the product page lists what is included.

What financing options are available on office furniture?

Three separate programs. The BrandsMart USA credit card offers special financing on qualifying purchases, with no interest if you pay the promotional balance in full within the promotional period. Katapult is lease-to-own, and you can check your buying power without affecting your credit score. Klarna splits a purchase into installments, with a decision in seconds. Each one underwrites differently, so if one is not a fit, another may be. Current terms are on our financing page.

Setting up an ergonomic home office

Most home office discomfort traces back to three measurements, and you can fix all three in an afternoon. Desk height comes first: standard desks run 29 to 30 inches, and the right height puts your elbows at roughly 90 degrees, with forearms parallel to the floor while typing. If the desk is too tall, raise the chair and add a footrest rather than hunching your shoulders up to meet it.

Chair position comes second. Feet flat on the floor, thighs parallel to the ground, knees at about 90 degrees, and lumbar support meeting the inward curve of your lower back rather than sitting above or below it. Monitor height comes third: the top of the screen should sit at or just below eye level, about an arm's length away. A monitor that is too low is the most common cause of neck strain in a home office, and raising it costs very little. Even with all three set correctly, movement matters more than any single measurement. Stand up every 30 to 45 minutes, no matter how well the workstation is set up.

Laptops, monitors, and desk depth

Using a laptop flat on a desk forces either your neck or your wrists into a bad position, and you cannot fix both without separating the screen from the keyboard. If a laptop is your main machine, add an external keyboard and raise the laptop on a stand so the screen reaches eye level.

For dual monitors, put the primary screen directly in front of you and angle the secondary one beside it. Centering the gap between two screens is a common mistake that leaves your neck turned slightly all day. On desk size, a 48-inch desk handles a single monitor and a laptop comfortably, while dual screens want 60 inches or more once you add a keyboard and a mouse. Depth matters as much as width: you need roughly 24 to 30 inches so the monitor can sit an arm's length away rather than in your face.

Five layout tips for a small home office

Office chair or gaming chair: which should you buy?

Buy the ergonomic task chair if you sit at your desk all day. Adjustable seat height, adjustable lumbar support that fits your back, armrests that let your shoulders drop, and a seat depth that leaves two to three fingers of space behind your knees carry you through eight hours. Mesh backs breathe, which matters more in a Florida or Georgia home office than in most places.

Buy the gaming chair if you want firm side support, a high back that supports your head, and a backrest that reclines further than a task chair's. Gaming chairs suit shorter sessions and people who like being held in position rather than floating. The trade-off is that they generally offer less adjustment through the seat pan and lumbar area, and the fixed bucket seat fits some body shapes much better than others, so sit in one before committing to it as a full-time work chair.

Standing desk or a better chair: where does the money go further?

Spend on the chair first if you can only afford one. You are in contact with it every minute you work, and a chair that fits fixes more problems than a desk that moves. A standing desk paired with a bad chair still leaves you in the bad chair for most of the day.

A standing desk only pays for itself if you already have a chair that fits and you genuinely alternate. The benefit comes from changing position every 30 to 45 minutes, not from standing all day, which creates its own set of problems. If you know you will leave it in one position, spend the money elsewhere.

A chair either fits you or it does not, and sitting in one tells you more than any spec sheet. You can try chairs in person at any of our eleven showrooms across South Florida and metro Atlanta.

Each showroom's page in our store finder lists the address, phone number, and current hours. You can also find the nearest store or order online and pick up in-store.

Buy whichever way suits you. Try the chairs in person at any of our showrooms across Florida and Georgia, order online and collect in-store, or have your desk and chair delivered. Financing is available on qualifying purchases, including a lease-to-own option with no credit needed. Measure the corner the desk is going into, including the depth, before you order.
