LED and QLED TVs

An LED TV is what most people are buying when they buy a television, and LED covers the widest range of any TV type: from an affordable set for a spare bedroom up to a Mini-LED flagship with thousands of dimming zones. It is also the brightest option, which is what matters in a Florida living room with the blinds open. BrandsMart USA carries the full spread.

QLED and Neo QLED sets live in this collection too. QLED is not a separate panel technology: it is an LED-backlit LCD with a quantum-dot layer added in front, which is what boosts color volume and brightness. If you are comparing QLED against something else, you are comparing it against the sets on this page.

Shop LED TVs by Screen Size

Brand shopping works well here because the lineups differ so much. Compare Samsung LED TVs for QLED and Neo QLED panels, TCL LED TVs and Hisense LED TVs for large screens at lower prices, or Vizio LED TVs for straightforward value. LG and Sony are here as well. See the full brand lineup.

Why Buy Your LED TV From BrandsMart USA

  • Huge showrooms in Florida and Georgia. Find your nearest store and see how a set handles the bright overhead lighting, which is the closest thing to a sunny living room you can test in.
  • Friendly, expert help in the showroom. Our TV team works with these sets every day and will happily talk through backlight type, brightness for a sunny room and where the value sits in the range, in plain language and without pushing you toward the biggest price tag. Tell them the room and the budget, and they will narrow it down.
  • Financing is one of the better reasons to buy here. There is more than one way to spread the cost, and they work differently. The BrandsMart USA credit card carries 0% promotional financing on qualifying purchases, with the length of the term depending on the category and the amount. Katapult lease-to-own needs no credit at all, and you can check your buying power without affecting your credit score. Klarna splits a purchase into interest-free installments with a decision in seconds. Because those are three separate programs rather than one, a route that is not a fit for you does not have to be the end of it.
  • A clear return policy. Our return and refund policy sets out how exchanges and refunds work, including the shorter return window that applies to flat-panel televisions. Worth reading before you buy.
  • The widest selection and the widest price range. Everything from a small second set to a Mini-LED flagship, in one department.
  • Delivery, installation and haul-away. Big panels need two people. Check what is included in our delivery and installation details.
  • Competitive pricing, and offers worth checking. Our 110% low price guarantee applies if you find the same model advertised for less, and it is worth looking through today's deals before you order.
What does LED mean on a TV?

LED stands for light-emitting diode, and it describes the light source rather than the picture layer. An LED TV is an LCD television lit from behind or from the edges by LEDs. They replaced the fluorescent tubes older LCD sets used, which is why LED sets are brighter, thinner and more efficient.

What is a QLED TV, and is it different from LED?

A QLED TV is an LED TV with a quantum-dot layer added. The backlight and the LCD panel work the same way as any other LED set; the dots sit in front of the backlight and convert its light into purer red and green, which raises color saturation and brightness. So QLED is a step up within LED, not a separate technology, and QLED sets are merchandised right here alongside the rest of the LED range.

What is the difference between Mini-LED and regular LED?

Mini-LED uses much smaller diodes, so a set can pack in far more of them and split the backlight into many more independently controlled zones. The result is brighter highlights, deeper blacks and noticeably less blooming or halo around bright objects on a dark background. Standard LED sets still look good and cost less, but Mini-LED is the biggest picture-quality jump available within LED.

Is a Mini-LED TV worth it?

If you watch in a bright room and want strong HDR, yes. Mini-LED gets you most of the contrast benefit people buy OLED for while keeping the brightness advantage of LED. In a dim room where you mostly watch movies, the same money spent on an OLED TV will likely please you more.

What is the difference between LED and OLED?

An LED TV shines a backlight through an LCD panel, so its blacks are limited by how well that backlight can be dimmed. An OLED TV lights each pixel individually and can switch pixels fully off, which gives perfect blacks and better off-angle viewing. LED gets brighter, comes in more sizes, and costs less per inch. Bright room and big screen points to LED; dark room and movies points to OLED.

What size LED TV should I buy?

Measure your seating distance first. Around six feet suits 43 to 50 inches, eight to ten feet suits 55 to 65, and beyond ten feet you can comfortably go to 75 inches or larger. Then measure the wall or stand, including the foot spacing, before you order.

Are LED TVs energy efficient?

They are far more efficient than the LCD and plasma sets they replaced, and many models carry an ENERGY STAR rating. The two things that drive consumption are screen size and backlight level, so dropping the picture out of the store's demo mode saves power and usually looks better at home as well.

Do all LED TVs have 4K resolution?

Most do, but not the smallest ones. Sets in the 32-inch range are often 720p or 1080p, and that is reasonable at that size. From about 43 inches upward, 4K is standard, and every 4K set here also appears in our 4K Ultra HD collection.

Do LED TVs come with streaming apps built in?

Nearly all of them do. Samsung uses Tizen, LG uses webOS, and TCL, Hisense and Vizio ship with Roku TV, Google TV or SmartCast depending on the model. Compare the platforms in our smart TV selection if the interface matters to you as much as the picture.

Which LED TV is best for a bright, sunny room?

Look for high peak brightness, a full-array or Mini-LED backlight, an anti-glare screen finish, and a quantum-dot layer if it is in budget. Those four together beat the sun better than any single specification. Bring a photo of the room to a showroom and ask an associate to set a comparable brightness level.

Where can I compare LED and QLED TVs in person near me?

BrandsMart USA has large showrooms across Florida and Georgia with LED, QLED and Mini-LED sets running beside each other under the same lighting. Find your nearest showroom and ask to see the same scene on a standard LED set and a Mini-LED one, since that comparison is hard to judge from specifications.

Are TCL, Hisense and Vizio TVs any good?

Yes, and they have improved sharply. The value brands now ship features that used to be premium only, including full-array local dimming, quantum dot color and 120Hz panels, at prices well below the flagship brands. What you generally give up is picture processing, which shows most in upscaling lower quality sources and in motion handling, along with peak brightness at the very top end and sometimes longer term software support. For a bright family room or a second TV they are often the smarter buy. For a dedicated movie room where you will notice processing, a step up is easier to justify. The honest answer is to look at them side by side, which is what a showroom visit is for.

What financing options are available on LED TVs?

Three, and they are worth knowing apart. The BrandsMart USA credit card offers 0% promotional financing on qualifying purchases, and TVs are one of the categories where the longer terms tend to show up. Katapult is lease-to-own with no credit needed, and checking your buying power does not affect your credit score. Klarna splits the cost into interest-free installments and gives a decision in seconds. Current terms are listed on our financing page, and the team in store can tell you what is running.

Sound, Mounting and Placement

Slim LED cabinets leave little room for speakers, so dialogue is usually the first thing people want to fix. A soundbar connected over HDMI eARC solves it with one cable. For placement, either check the VESA pattern against our TV wall mounts, or measure the foot spacing on the set against the TV stand you plan to use, since many large LED sets have feet near the outer edges.

1. Match the size to the room, then to the budget

For seating around eight to ten feet from the screen, most people are happiest at 65 inches. Bedrooms and offices usually work at 43 to 55. Because LED costs less per inch than any other type, the honest advice is to buy the biggest screen that fits your wall and your stand rather than spending the same money on a smaller premium panel.

2. Backlight type is the real difference

Edge-lit sets put LEDs around the border of the panel and are the least expensive. Full-array local dimming puts them behind the screen in zones that brighten and dim independently, which deepens blacks and cuts the gray haze in dark scenes. Mini-LED shrinks those diodes so a set can carry many more zones, which means tighter control, brighter highlights and much less blooming around bright objects. More zones is the single spec that best predicts how good an LED picture looks.

3. What the quantum-dot layer does

QLED and Neo QLED sets add a film of quantum dots between the backlight and the panel. The dots convert light into very pure red and green, so the set produces more saturated color at high brightness instead of washing out. That is why a QLED holds color in a bright room where a plain LED set looks pale. Neo QLED is Samsung's name for a QLED that also uses a Mini-LED backlight, so you get both improvements together.

4. Brightness, glare and where the windows are

This is where LED wins outright. A bright LED or QLED set can push far more light than an OLED, so it stays watchable with the sun coming in and it makes HDR highlights pop in daylight. Look at the screen finish too: a matte or anti-glare coating scatters reflections and is worth as much as raw brightness in a room with a window behind the sofa.

5. Refresh rate and gaming

A 120Hz panel handles fast motion better than a 60Hz one, and it is the base requirement for 4K at 120Hz from a console. Beyond that, look for HDMI 2.1 inputs, variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode, and check how many ports run at full bandwidth. Be careful with marketing terms for motion smoothing, which describe processing rather than the panel's actual refresh rate.

QLED or OLED?

Buy a QLED if the room is bright, the screen is large, or the budget has to stretch. Quantum dots let an LED-backlit panel hold deep, saturated color at brightness an OLED cannot sustain, which is exactly what a sun-filled Florida living room asks for, and paired with a matte or anti-glare finish it keeps daytime sports watchable. LED also spans far more screen sizes and costs less per inch, so the same money often buys a whole size class more picture.

Buy an OLED TV instead if you watch mostly after dark and contrast is what you care about most. That is the honest weakness of every backlit set: black lifts toward gray, bright objects bloom against a dark background, and the image flattens for anyone sitting well off center. Keep the naming straight, too: QLED is not a rival technology to LED, it is an LED-backlit panel with a quantum-dot film added in front, so the real head-to-head here is a step-up set on this page against a different panel technology entirely. If you want QLED brightness at 65 inches with something close to OLED contrast, a Mini-LED QLED is the nearest thing to both.

Mini-LED or standard LED?

Go Mini-LED if you watch HDR movies or sports in a bright room and want the best picture this technology can give. Shrinking the backlight diodes lets a set carry many more independently dimmed zones, which buys you brighter highlights, deeper blacks and much less halo around a bright object on a dark background. Zone count is the single specification that best predicts how good a backlit picture looks, and it is the biggest jump available inside this range.

Stick with a standard full-array or edge-lit set if you are furnishing a second room, or if you would rather put the money into screen size. A good standard LED still looks strong with everyday content, and trading a 65-inch Mini-LED for an 80-inch or larger standard set is a swap plenty of people are happy with. What you accept is looser contrast control: dark scenes carry more gray haze and blooming, which is most obvious with the lights off. For a bedroom or office screen, standard LED is plenty.

Screens are hard to judge from a spec sheet, so it is worth seeing one lit up. Our showrooms let you compare brightness, contrast and motion side by side, and there are eleven of them across South Florida and metro Atlanta.

Each store page has the address, phone number and current showroom hours. You can also find the store nearest you or order online and collect in store.

Buy whichever way suits you. Compare LED and QLED TVs side by side at any of our showrooms across Florida and Georgia, order online and collect in store, or have your new set delivered to your door. Financing is available on qualifying purchases, including a lease-to-own route that needs no credit. Compare a few side by side in a bright spot, which is where the brightness difference shows.
