Shop TVs by Size, From 30 Inches to 80 and Up

Screen size is the decision most people get wrong, in both directions. The right answer comes from three numbers: the width of the wall or console, how far away you sit, and your budget. BrandsMart USA stocks every popular size, from compact bedroom sets to the big screens people buy for game day.

Pick your size band below, or visit a showroom in Florida or Georgia and stand at your real viewing distance in front of a few of them. Ten minutes in a store settles the question faster than any calculator.

Shop TVs by Screen Size

  • 30 to 39 inches. Kitchens, dorm rooms, offices, guest rooms and anywhere a screen has to share the wall with something else.
  • 40 to 49 inches. Apartments, bedrooms and smaller living areas. A comfortable step up without dominating the room.
  • 50 to 59 inches. The most popular band in the country, and the safe default for a typical living room at six to nine feet.
  • 60 to 69 inches. Family rooms and open-plan spaces. This is where 65-inch sets sit, the size most people upgrade into.
  • 70 to 79 inches. Large rooms with eight feet or more of seating distance. Home to the 75-inch models that dominate football season.
  • 80-inch TVs and larger. Dedicated home theaters and big great rooms. Measure the doorway and the wall before you commit to one.

Why Buy Your New TV at BrandsMart USA

  • Massive showrooms in Florida and Georgia. Find your nearest store and compare sizes side by side, checking brightness, contrast, color and motion in person.
  • Financing is one of the better reasons to buy here. There is more than one way to spread the cost, and they work differently. The BrandsMart USA credit card carries 0% promotional financing on qualifying purchases, with the length of the term depending on the category and the amount. Katapult lease-to-own needs no credit at all, and you can check your buying power without affecting your credit score. Klarna splits a purchase into interest-free installments with a decision in seconds. Because those are three separate programs rather than one, a route that is not a fit for you does not have to be the end of it.
  • A clear return policy. Our return and refund policy sets out how exchanges and refunds work, including the shorter return window that applies to flat-panel televisions. Worth reading before you buy.
  • Top brand names. Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizio, TCL and Hisense, across smart, OLED, QLED, Mini-LED and 4K and 8K models. See the full brand lineup.
  • Delivery and installation. Large screens are a two-person job. Review our delivery and installation details before you order a 70-inch or bigger set.
  • Friendly, expert help in the showroom. Our TV team works with these sets every day and will happily talk through matching screen size to your wall and your viewing distance, in plain language and without pushing you toward the biggest price tag. Tell them the room and the budget, and they will narrow it down.
  • Competitive pricing. Our 110% low price guarantee applies if you find the same model advertised for less.
What size TV is best for a bedroom?

A 30-inch to 40-inch set fits most bedrooms, guest rooms and smaller spaces comfortably. At the four to seven feet you typically sit from a bedroom TV, anything larger starts to feel overwhelming. Start with 30 to 39 inches and step up only if the room is unusually large.

Is a 50-inch TV big enough for a living room?

For most living rooms, yes. Fifty inches is one of the most popular sizes because it balances screen size, picture quality and price well at six to nine feet. If your sofa is further back or the room is open-plan, a 60 to 69-inch set is the natural upgrade.

What is the recommended viewing distance for a 65-inch TV?

Roughly seven to nine feet for 4K content. Closer than that and you may start to notice the pixel structure on lower-quality sources; much further back and you lose the detail you paid for. Measure from the front of your seat to the wall before you decide.

Should I choose a 70-inch or an 80-inch TV for my home theater?

Both work well for a cinematic setup, so let the room decide. If you sit eight to twelve feet away, a 70-inch to 79-inch screen fills your view nicely. Beyond twelve feet, or in a dedicated theater room, go to 80 inches and larger.

Is a bigger TV always better?

No. Room size, seating distance and how the screen looks on the wall all matter. Very large screens are immersive in the right space, but in a small room a 40-inch to 50-inch set is more comfortable to watch and easier to place. Measure first, then buy the largest size that fits both the wall and the distance.

Is 4K enough for a 70-inch or 80-inch TV?

Yes. 4K holds up well even on very large screens at normal seating distances, and it is what almost all content is mastered in. 8K only pulls ahead if you are close to a very large panel. Compare both in TVs by type.

What size TV is best for gaming?

Many gamers land on 50 to 65 inches, which fills your field of view without forcing you to turn your head at a desk or close seating position. The size matters less than the features: look for 120Hz, variable refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 inputs.

Are smaller TVs still worth buying?

Yes. 30-inch and 40-inch sets are ideal for kitchens, offices, dorms, RVs and spare rooms, and they are the most affordable way to add a screen. Many now include the same streaming platforms as larger models.

What is the most popular TV size?

The 50-inch to 55-inch range is the most commonly purchased size in the US, because it suits the majority of living rooms and offers strong value. The 65-inch size is a close second and is where a lot of upgrade buyers end up.

How do I know if a TV will fit my stand?

Compare the TV's overall width and its foot spacing against the top surface of your console, not just the console's width. Many large TVs have feet near the outer edges. If the numbers are tight, a wall mount removes the problem entirely.

Where can I compare TV sizes in person near me?

BrandsMart USA has large showrooms across Florida and Georgia with sizes lined up next to each other, which makes the difference between 55, 65 and 75 inches obvious in a way that measurements do not. Find your nearest showroom and bring your wall measurement and seating distance.

How far should I sit from a 65-inch or 75-inch TV?

A workable rule for 4K is a viewing distance of roughly one and a half times the screen's diagonal. That puts a 65-inch set at about eight feet and a 75-inch set at about nine to ten feet. Sitting closer than that is not harmful and many people prefer it for movies and gaming, because 4K resolution holds up at close range in a way that older HD sets did not. Measure from the wall to your sofa before you decide, since that number settles the question faster than any spec.

Are 98-inch and 100-inch TVs practical in a house?

They can be, but the room has to earn it. You need a clear wall span wider than the screen, a viewing distance of roughly twelve feet or more, and a realistic way to get the box through your doors and hallways. Sets that large are also a two or three person lift and often need a heavier-duty mount. For most living rooms the 80-inch and larger band is where the practical ceiling sits.

Can I finance a large TV?

Yes, and there is more than one route. The BrandsMart USA credit card offers 0% promotional financing on qualifying purchases, and big-screen TVs are one of the categories where the longer promotional terms tend to show up. Katapult is lease-to-own with no credit needed, and checking your buying power does not affect your credit score. Klarna splits the cost into interest-free installments and gives a decision in seconds. Current terms are listed on our financing page, and the team in store can tell you what is running.

Which Size Fits Your Room

Measure your viewing distance

Sit where you actually watch and measure back to the wall. As a working guide: 30 to 40 inches suits about four to seven feet, 50 to 60 inches suits six to nine feet, and 70 to 80 inches suits eight to twelve feet or more. If you fall between two bands, go with the larger one. Almost nobody regrets that direction.

Measure the wall or the console

For a wall mount, allow a few inches of clear space on each side of the screen. For a stand, the console has to be wider than the TV's feet, which on many models sit near the outer edges. Check the feet spacing on the spec sheet, and browse TV stands or wall mounts at the same time so nothing arrives that does not fit.

Consider the room's lighting

Bright rooms with lots of window light favor high-brightness panels, which is where LED and QLED sets do their best work. Rooms you can darken favor OLED for deep blacks and strong contrast. Size and panel type are separate decisions, so make both.

Match the set to how you watch

Sports and live TV want good motion handling, high brightness and wide viewing angles. Movies want HDR performance and real contrast. Gaming wants 120Hz, variable refresh rate, auto low latency mode and HDMI 2.1. Resolution follows size: 4K Ultra HD is plenty up to about 75 inches, and 8K is worth a look above that if you sit close.

65-inch or 75-inch?

Let the seating distance settle it. Buy 65 inches if your seat is roughly seven to nine feet from the wall. It is the size most upgrade buyers land on, it fits the majority of living-room walls and media consoles, and manufacturers build their deepest selection at that size, so you get more choice at every price level.

Buy 75 inches if you sit nine feet back or further, or the room is open-plan and the screen has to hold its own against the space around it. The trade-offs are real ones: a 75-inch set wants close to six and a half feet of clear wall, it is a two-person carry, its feet often sit near the outer edges so a normal console will not take it, and from six feet you will start to notice softness in cable and older streaming sources. Where the distance supports both, take the larger one. Very few people wish they had gone smaller.

What size TV for a bedroom versus a living room?

A bedroom is the one place to buy small on purpose. You sit four to seven feet from a bedroom screen, often off to one side and often lying down, so a 30 to 39-inch set or a 40 to 49-inch one is comfortable rather than overwhelming, and it leaves usable space on the dresser. Going bigger in that room mostly means turning your head.

A living room is the opposite case: buy the largest size the wall and the distance will carry, which for most homes means the 50 to 59-inch band through 65 inches. One caution if you are buying for a bedroom: the smallest sets are often 720p or 1080p rather than 4K. That is perfectly reasonable at that size and distance, but check the resolution if the TV might get promoted to a bigger room later.

Screens are hard to judge from a spec sheet, so it is worth seeing one lit up. Our showrooms let you compare brightness, contrast and motion side by side, and there are eleven of them across South Florida and metro Atlanta.

Each store page has the address, phone number and current showroom hours. You can also find the store nearest you or order online and collect in store.

Buy whichever way suits you. Compare outdoor TVs side by side at any of our showrooms across Florida and Georgia, order online and collect in store, or have your new set delivered to your door. Financing is available on qualifying purchases, including a lease-to-own route that needs no credit. Tell us how much direct sun the spot gets, since that decides which model will actually work.
