Do you deliver and install appliances?

Yes. Delivery is available across our service area, and professional installation can be added for most major appliances. What is included varies by product and by the connections at your home, so read the delivery and installation details before you order. Gas and hard-wired electrical connections have to be made by a licensed installer.

Will you take away my old appliance?

Haul-away of the old unit is available on most major appliance deliveries. Have it emptied, disconnected and clear of the path to the door before the truck arrives. The current terms are listed in our shipping and delivery policy.

How do I measure for a new appliance?

Measure the opening width, height and depth, then measure every doorway, stairwell and turn between the front door and the installation spot. Leave about an inch of clearance around a refrigerator for airflow, and check the specification sheet for the model you want, because cutout dimensions and overall dimensions are different numbers. Bring those measurements with you when you visit a showroom.

Is it cheaper to buy an appliance package or individual appliances?

What happens to my old appliance when the new one is delivered?

Haul-away of the old unit can be arranged as part of delivery on most major appliances, so you are not left moving a refrigerator to the curb yourself. Appliances taken away are handled through recycling and disposal channels rather than simply sent to landfill, and refrigerant-bearing units like refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners have to be processed by someone equipped to recover the refrigerant. What does appliance delivery and installation actually include?

Delivery brings the appliance into the room and unboxes it. Installation goes further and connects it: water line and leveling on a refrigerator, hoses and leveling on a washer, drain and supply on a dishwasher, and the electrical connection on an electric range. Gas connections and any work requiring a permit are handled by a licensed technician rather than a delivery crew. When is the best time to buy appliances?

There is a rhythm to it. Major appliance promotions cluster around holiday weekends, with the stretch from Black Friday into January among the strongest, and new model years arriving in late spring and fall push the outgoing models down in price. Refrigerators and laundry pairs tend to see the deepest cuts, and buying the outgoing model year is usually better value than buying a lower tier from the current one. Planning a Whole Kitchen

1. Measure before you shop, not after

Write down the width, height and depth of every opening, then add the doorway and hallway widths the appliance has to travel through to get there. Refrigerators are the usual problem: a standard-depth model runs roughly 30 to 36 inches deep and will stand proud of your cabinets, so look at counter-depth models if a flush look matters. Check door swing and handle clearance against islands and adjacent walls too.

2. Settle the fuel question early

Gas or electric decides more than the cooking. A gas range needs a gas line at the wall, and an electric range needs a dedicated 240-volt circuit. The same split applies in the laundry room between electric and gas dryers. Confirm what you already have before you fall in love with a model, because adding either one is an electrician or plumber job.

3. Buy in the right order

If a remodel is involved, appliances get chosen before cabinets are built, not after. Cabinetmakers need the exact cutout and clearance dimensions for the cooktop, wall oven and dishwasher. 4. Keep the finishes consistent

Stainless steel is still the most common finish, and fingerprint-resistant versions of it are much easier to live with. Black stainless and matte white read softer against painted cabinets, while plain white and black are the value choice.
