Worst instructions EVER

By Bill399

from Englewood, CO, United States

Comments about JBL Bluetooth Clock Radio:

My spouse bought this radio a couple of months ago. I chided her about being unable create presets on it until I got the instructions out and tried it myself. The little picture diagrams that pass for instruction are wholely inadequate and misleading. Only through time consuming trial and error could I get the job done. It is all hit and miss and a big waste of time. Evidence of what happens when no one pays attention.

This is a good product

By DavidNZ

from Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand

Comments about JBL Bluetooth Clock Radio:

I read the reviews before purchasing and was a little worried about the number of critical reviews about the dim light of the clock. Ironically this is one of it's best features ie the brightness adjusts to light in the room. If you want an alarm clock that is bright and obtrusive then don't buy this, if you want subtle peaceful light then this is great. Other features like Bluetooth and quality of sound is great

Terrible Product

By CLB04

Comments about JBL Bluetooth Clock Radio:

I received this as a gift. The power input stopped working after 2 weeks of use. You have to position the cable perfectly in the slot and it can't even be moved the slightest or it will turn off.

display lighting

By gurr

from sterling heights mi

Comments about JBL Bluetooth Clock Radio:

what good is the display if it fades so much that you can not read it at night. it dims according to the light in the room, so after awhile you can not even see it if the room has been dark.. so forget waking up at 2am and knowing the time. should come up with a way to adjust it to stay the brightness you want or fade if you want. as it is now i have a clock i can not use, because i can not see it at night

The nemesis of the digital design or...

By Larsene

from Trento, Italy

Comments about JBL Bluetooth Clock Radio:

...revenge of the analog engineer I discovered this product thanks to a friend of mine, who bought it to replace his old radio-clock. He felt in love of the Horizon just after turning it on: wonderful sound reproduction coupled to a cute modern design and small size, meaning excellent WAF. Being a young melomaniac and vacuum amplification addicted, it was impossible to resist... This is the first part of the story, the second starts when he decided to take advantage of the excellent timbre of the new jewel and waking up caressed by the radio notes, as it was used with the sad old crackling alarm-clock. Unfortunately, the Horizon radio alarm can remind more the effect of a siren of a ocean liner than the melodic voice of a mythological siren. And it is impossible to control his intensity. I'm quite convinced that at this point my friend had to succumb to the fall of the inescapable Wife Acceptance Factor. So, the package box is gone, the return possibility too, a reverse engineering of the firmware allowing to change a couple of parameters in the volume setting routine is out of the economical possibility of my friend, we are now considering an old way solution: open the box and put a resistor in series to the speaker... With best regards to all the "analog" engineers of the JBL old guard...

About Time!!!!

By 4 drums

from NYC NY

Comments about JBL Bluetooth Clock Radio:

The evolution of alarm clocks has been going backwards offering no style or convenience until now. This is a very modern and sleek looking device that automatically dim and brightens the display depending on lighting conditions. In fact, it has it's on light that can be turned on manually or the option of lighting up when the alarm goes off.(Fantastic feature!) Blue Tooth, two USB ports that charge your phone, rounds out these great options. The sound is by no means concert hall quality, but for a device this size it sounds good enough. For all those complaints about button placement is unfounded. Within a couple of days all was second nature. Set up was a snap without using the instructions. It fulfilled our needs so well, a second one was purchased. Thanks JBL!!

Can't return it quickly enough....

By PA20001

from Undisclosed

Comments about JBL Bluetooth Clock Radio:

I purchased this device for a Christmas gift for my wife.... we have a spacious bedroom and frequently have difficulty seeing the clock due to the position of our furniture... having looked at dozens of clocks and their plus/minus features, I thought I found the 'right' device to best suit our needs.... I was VERY wrong..... I love the style and all of the many features associated with this products HOWEVER.... like many before me have stated, the dimming feature is a joke.... no way to adjust the setting therefore you can't see the time in the dark... makes no sense.... sending back today and alas, the search continues......

Works as advertised

By rbjosh1

from Oneonta, NY

Comments about JBL Bluetooth Clock Radio:

Before I bought this I read some of the reviews, both positive and negative. I called JBL up to get some feedback on some of the negative ones. After talking I felt confident that I would not be buying a "lemon". I am a long-time JBL consumer dating back to 1982. I currently have a 7.2 surround system made up of Control One's and 2 Sub 100P subwoofers and a Loft 20 center channel speaker that I've put together over the last few months to replace the JBL 6.1 system. (it still worked) I have another pair of floor tower speakers that I bought 15 years ago. I say all this to note that the Horizon is in the same class as the rest. It was easy to setup. The display dims to the right level. The sound is excellent. I was able to pair it up with my smartphone and listen to Pandora via Bluetooth. I set the alarm up to go of with the default sounds and also with Bluetooth. JBL has yet to, and probably never will disappoint me.

Can't see the clock

By Mh04

from NY, United States

Comments about JBL Bluetooth Clock Radio:

I bought this clock recently and from any farther than 3 ish feet you cannot see the time, especially at night. Unless you are using this right next to your bed, don't buy this. *Ironic because it is supposed to be a nighttime clock The photo shows the clock turned on from about 3.5 feet away.
