    Comments about Yamaha 1350 Watt 9.2 Channel Audio / Video Receiver:

    Very easy to setup. Remote control buttons are difficult to read as others comment when not backlit. Yamaha dynamic range control, dialog lift and DSP make listening a joy. Sound quality better in my opinion than THX class D receiver I previously owned. Hoping to get a nice long life out of this and decided to pay little extra for better Sabre32 DAC.

    Comments about Yamaha 1350 Watt 9.2 Channel Audio / Video Receiver:

    Sound Quality is much better than I even anticipated. I switched from a mid-tier Onkyo that was about 7 years old. YPAO has evolved to challenge Audyssey MultEQ, with room equalization for 2 subwoofers.

    Flat EQ sounds great, but Natural may be more appropriate if you have bright speakers. I use the Manual EQ with the settings copied (yes, the receiver even does that) from Flat but the high end is in-between Flat & Natural EQs.

    The new DAC makes a world of difference and is probably worth the upgrade if you're considering a lower model. I'm going back through almost all of the music in my collection because I'm literally hearing things I've never heard before.

    Online music is okay, nothing spectacular. The recent firmware update allows access to Spotify (which at least has higher resolution audio available). Pandora will only stream higher resolutions to PC at this time.

    Overall, a great receiver. With a 3 year warranty, I hope to enjoy this receiver for a long time to come.

      Comments about Yamaha 1350 Watt 9.2 Channel Audio / Video Receiver:

      A super sophisticated piece of technology. Having already owned Yamaha Receivers setting this one up was a breazee. Sound quality is what's expected from an AV Receiver of this caliber.
      Remote is way too big and some of the GUI functions within windows should have been superior and sophisticated. Other than that, its performance tops other brands in the market.

        Comments about Yamaha 1350 Watt 9.2 Channel Audio / Video Receiver:

        Well ... Started out just wanting to assuage my PTSD with GOOD music and discovered this magnificent miracle:
        First - it is considerably more user-friendly to both set-up and use then ANYTHING - no matter what the price;
        Second - it is so intuitive, and, every day it "adjusts" ... literally ... more and more to its environment;
        Third - the design, with an eye to the most possible control and adjustability, is exquisite;
        Fourth - and maybe FIRST is the 24 hour technical support with some of the best and human people on the planet. They listen and are quite impressive with their knowledge of many things including their own feelings and preferences manifesting them as part of their overall expertise. There is a very special Tech named Don, who is a real gift for "down to earth";
        Fifth - the almost endless features - that within themselves are outstanding -
        The DSP's - changing your room into just about any environment that could be imagined; the scenes; the inputs; the awesome Remote that lights-up - really good for the elder folks - and challenges you to learn more and more not only about the features but how YOU can use them;
        Sixth - the ability to charge and use an IPad and iPod even when turned off;
        Seventh - THIS IS THE REAL BLESSING - The sleep function allows me to adjust everything, including the volume and then have the unit turn itself off at whatever time chosen. For me, after my PTSD has really blasted the ability to start and continue to sleep, am getting to a deep sleep that is beyond time and capability to produce.
        All said, this receiver is worth every penny and more and every sacrifice it might take to purchase it.
        Oh ... special thanks to Jeanne in Owner's Manuals for all her patience and kindness.

          ASIDE FROM THE HARD TO READ REMOTE, THIS PACHAGE IS INCREDIBLE IN POWER AND AUDIO. WHEN LISTENING TO VARIOUS MUSIC, AND HOW IT SOUNDS AS IF IT WERE BEING PLAYED IN VARIOUS HALLS AND CATHEDRALS AROUND THE WORLD IS TRULY AMAZING, THE QUALITY AND CRISPNESS TO THE FINEST DETAIL IS UNMATCHED, AND I HAVE HEARD ABOUT 4 OTHER ULTRA HIGH END TUNERS AND THE RX A3030 IS UNBEATABLE FOR THE PRICE AND ENTIRE PACKAGE. THE VIDEO UPSCALING MAKES MY 92" TV JUMP OUT WITH SUBSTANTIAL VIBRANCY WHICH WAS NOT THERE BEFORE.

            Comments about Yamaha 1350 Watt 9.2 Channel Audio / Video Receiver:

            I upgraded from a Yamaha RX-N600 I bought back in 2006ish to maintain connectivity with emerging technology (still works great, fyi). Specifically the attachment to connect my iPhone was not going to work with the new iPhone 5 connection port and more and more often I found my music being located on my phone (annoying as that may be). Also, I wanted to control the music in my back yard without having to walk into the house to the stereo (separate zone). Finally, I had 5 remote controls in my living room and a 2 page instruction manual for my wife and anyone who was pet sitting to turn on the TV vs. listen to music.

            The A3030 has solved all those problems and more. First, it was easy to set up. Second, the sound is fantastic, although I admit I'm not an audiophile. Third, there are easy one-button functions to do what you want to do (turn on the TV and make the sound be what you see on the screen). Fourth, the option to adjust the music by zone throughout my house and yard with my phone is awesome! I feel so liberated! Of course, now my friends and I fight over what to listen to when before no one wanted to get up and change the source, but such is the good life.

            A few cautionary notes: If you want to watch TV and listen to the stereo at the same time, i.e. have a football game on while not listening to the ignorant announcers, you need to run a separate HDMI cable from the source of your TV signal to the TV set directly and change the screen input, you cannot change the audio source and maintain the TV image on the screen from the receiver itself. Second, if you want to listen to the same input source of audio in multiple zones and the zones are close enough to hear them at the same time, you need to use the Party mode otherwise some input sources have a delay that is annoying. Fortunately this is easy as Yamaha gave us a "Party" button. Thanks Yamaha! (its also on your phone app, somewhat buried under the Option selection of the main zone).

            So, for someone who is looking to control their audio/visual world from the one device already taking up space in their pocket, this is it. Enjoy!

              After having 2 Onkyo's [NR806 AND NR906] fail with there well known HDMI board problems which go along with there heat problem and no help from Onkyo accept to basically say Have A nice day I spent a lot of time comparing top line ELITE and new Onkyo which is redesigned and the Yamaha 3030. After a month of talking to professionals that have worked in the A/V world as in retail and repair for more than 7 yr each and researching articles My decision was this 1. So far great in every way. Best remote I have used and the receiver that picked up immeadiately on a finish nail pierceing a back speaker wire in first step of set up. Onkyo and Pioneer had just passed it by. INTERESTING . Yamaha is priced more realistically. See April at1 call great retailer and tons of expertise. Of course now I have a used NR906

                This replaces a RX-A2000 which was moved to another room.
