Whether you are looking for Ultra 4K or Smart TVs; LCDs, LEDs or Plasmas; Big Screen or portable, BrandsMart USA has a TV for your every need. BrandsMart USA has been a leading retailer of Televisions since the 1980s. We carry all of the major brands with the latest technology.
Buying a Television can be a daunting task. All of the terminology can be a little hard to digest. So here is a Quick Guide to help you make a selection:
LED: LED sets are actually LCD screens
that are backlit with Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). Because the screen is lit by hundreds of tiny LEDs, the TV is capable of displaying deeper colors,
bigger contrast and darker black levels than most LCD screens. The Edge Lit LCD screens move the light sources to the edge of the screen allowing for the ultra thin LED Televisions.
LCD: Standard LCD screens are a good option
for rooms with bright lighting. Plasmas and some LEDs don’t do as well in bright light. And if you need a smaller size screen, then you will need to look
at LCD or LED TVs. Plasma TVs are generally 42” or bigger.
PLASMA: If you watch TV in low light or darkened rooms, and if you need a wide angled viewing area, then Plasma might be a great choice for you. Because Plasma TVs can control each pixel, they are capable
of greater contrast and deeper black levels compared to LCD TVs. Contrast is achieved by how dark the pixels can get. Because a plasma screen can basically
make each pixel very dark, they achieve deeper black colors, thus greater contrast.
ULTRA HD: or Ultra 4K. It doesn’t mean 4000
pixels horizontally. It means 4 times the resolution of 1920 x 1080 – full HD resolution. It means a resolution of 3840 x 2160. Is this important?
The more pixels you see – the more detail you will see. Curves and diagonal lines will appear smoother and less pixelated. With a higher resolution, you will
be able to sit closer to the screen without noticing the pixel grid.
SMART TV: Smart TVs are newer generation TVs that
are Internet capable, and come from the manufacturer with apps installed that open up the world of the Internet to your screen. If you have a TV that isn’t ‘smart’,
there is a wide selection of video devices that will connect your TV to the Internet, from Roku to GoogleTV to a variety of Internet ready Blu Ray players. SMART TVs and
Smart TV devices can open up your TV to online media like Netflix, Pandora, YouTube and Facebook.
OLED: OLED is short for Organic Light Emitting Diode. OLED Televisions are the latest in video technology. Instead of backlighting the
screen like LCD, LEDs and Plasma, OLED actually applies electricity to inner surfaces of the screen to generate light. The pixel can actually be turned
completely off, for a completely black pixel. This will allow greater contrast and make other colors more vibrant.
SCREEN SIZE: Screen size is measured on the diagonal. The proper screen size is important for your viewing enjoyment. Most people feel
that you should buy the biggest screen you can afford. Generally, 40” and below are optimal sizes for a bedroom or office. 46” to 60” for your family viewing area,
65” or above for your home theater.
