How To Be A Smart Shopper
LOOK OUT FOR "BAIT and SWITCH"
These are items that are advertised at low prices to lure you into a store. Once there, you discover that the store is either sold out of the advertised "bargain," or never had the slightest intention of selling you the item at the price advertised. The salesperson then proceeds to "switch" you to a higher priced item.

ASK QUESTIONS
Don't be intimidated. Ask as many questions as you want, and don't let a salesperson dazzle you with technical answers. Insist on language you can understand. You have a right to every piece of information on the product you are buying.

UNDERSTANDING PRICE GUARANTEES
Some stores claim "every price guaranteed" and offer you 110 percent of the difference. It is important for you to understand the math of this claim. If Store a sells you a TV for $499 and you subsequently go into store B and find they are selling it for $489, the 110 percent difference is $11. This means that you save an additional $1 for your trouble of overpaying for the product in the first place.

Of course, BrandsMart USA believes that the consumer is best served by receiving the lowest price the first time and not have to run around town to get a refund. Some retailers believe that you should pay more up front and that you hopefully will not shop the price. Our recommendation is that you do shop the price; after all, it is YOUR money.

Recertified Merchandise
Some retailers use the term recertified goods. There is no such thing as “recertified” products as there is no recertification system currently being used in the United States today. These products are simply refurbished and any description other than refurbished might be an attempt to mislead the customer.
