Great performance and feature - poor fit

By Anonymous

from Sugar Land, TX, United States

Comments about Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth Headset:

My one complaint about the Legend is ergonomic. It is comfortable; I forget I am wearing it. But the ear bud is big and does not stay in or even close to my ear canal. So in a noisy environment, the caller can hear me fine (due to the excellent ambient noise rejection), but I cannot hear the caller unless I press the earbud tight against my ear. Otherwise this is the best headset I have ever used. the charging has always worked for me, but I would prefer an industry standard cable (like micro usb). If you don't have the Plantronics charging cable (or lose it), you have seven hours, then your Legend is useless. Great features: announces the caller and allows voice commands to answer or reject the call. Noise rejection is amazing. My son's Mustang with loud exhaust has an interior noise level at 70 mph of 94 dbA. Really loud. A caller hears none of it. Battery life is great.

I have had a number of Plantronics products - this is the best all around choice from my perspective. In the office or on-the-go works like a charm.

Worst Voyager of all- Won't Charge, Unfcomfortable

By svosho

from California, United States

Comments about Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth Headset:

After owning 3 previous Voyagers, I was due for a new one as my Pro HD battery was losing talk time and the rubber was bubbling. I bought the Legend expecting great things as usual. There is nothing great about the Legend. They designed a new "proprietary magnetic charging cable" that is one of the most ill-thought out designs ever. 1. You need their proprietary cable. 2. Unlike Apple's Magsafe magnetic charge cable where the magnet actually holds, this one does not, and the unit never charges- never. After wearing down the original charge, then trying both cables it came with on 5 different power sources- nothing. The connection is so poor power will not transmit power to the headset. After talking to their tech support, the rep sheepishly admitted Legend charging complaints due to the cable are very common. On to the uncomfortable fit... Compared to a Voyager Pro HD, the rubber is quite stiff and does not fit the ear comfortably, plus the curve over-ear is molded different than the Pro, so it fits the ear poorly. I normally use the medium size earbud, but had to use the small one instead-and it was just never right- they changed the fit entirely- why? I returned the unit within the first week and bought a Voyager 5220. That is MUCH better so far with a REAL Micro USB charge port, flexible rubber, comfortable design and I can use the medium earbud again. Beware: the Voyager Legend is the worst one they ever made. You may start to see these on sale with the 5200 and 5220 coming out in April, 2016. DO NOT BE TEMPTED! The cost savings is just not worth it due to the major design flaws of the Legend. Just get the 5200 and pretend the Legend never happened. I bet Plantronics wishes it never happened.

Light weight. Easy to use.

By Shelia 88

Comments about Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth Headset:

I bought my first one over two years ago and it still works great. I use it in my work and have to be on conference calls sometimes 10 to 12 hours at a time and the charge lasts about 8 so the fix for this was to buy a second one so that I always have one charged.

By SgtZed

Comments about Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth Headset:

Sound quality is awesome. Comfortable to wear for all day use.Mine came with extra charger and car kit-nice. The problem I have is with the battery life. For the size, I expected the battery to be better. Keep the chargers handy.

Best Bluetooth I've owned.

By oldmantrucker

from Chardon, OH, United States

Comments about Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth Headset:

I am a truck driver. It's a very noisy environment. It's illegal to use hand-held cell phones while driving. With this Legend I am completely hands-free. I've had and used other Bluetooth communication tools in the past. None of them have been as durable as this Plantronics. I chose the Legend because of its noise suppression capabilities and previous success with aircraft communications headsets and boom mikes when flying. The one time I had a product failure, it was quickly replaced without a moment of contest with the company.

drops connection with iPhone

By anonymous312

from Undisclosed

Comments about Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth Headset:

It seems that the headsets turns off during a call. I have to switch back on my phone to the headset. Also changing the configuration is not supported on Apple products (either IOS app or OSX app). So iPhone users don't buy this product.

Love the feel

By baddaybeav

from Atlanta, GA, United States

Comments about Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth Headset:

light weight, good quality sound et al. Only issue seems to be a notification on muting the headset that occurs randomly. It doesn't actually mute (unless I do mute it) so it's more an annoyance.
