Comments about Lorex Wireless Digital Security Camera:

I had the opprtunity to test a LOREX Wireless system using a Lorex LH320H DVR. I submitted a review earlier on the DVR and Lorex software. Now for the wireless cams. I really wanted wireless but in short, I wouldnt recommend wireless for atleast 2 reasons:

      1. The frame rate of wireless cams results in the motion not being smooth or realtime.

      2. The wirelss signal will diminish if the camera's wireless receiver is too far away from the camera. The DVR software measures each cam's signal strength with bars, much like the signal bars on a cell phone, and I observed the bars to decrease the farther away the cam was positioned. The Lorex wireless cams I used had 420 TVL (TV lines of resolution) which IMO is not enough, especially for wireless

The Lorex wireless cams are a good solution if you are monitoring inside your home, such as monitoring your suspicious babysitter or pets. However, for outside security, due to distance, I would advise a wired system.

I have my hopes on a REVO wired system, which has 540 TVL and one ethernet-like wire (as opposed to BNC) so a wired install will look clean. Revo also offers lifetime support, whereas Lorex only offers 1 year. I only hope REVO has problem-free remote viewing from my office (The Lorex system had problems).
