Worked for a day

By E in the Kitchen

from Boston, MA

Comments about KitchenAid Rotor Slicer With Shredder:

My mom bought this for me. I was excited as I wanted it for grating cheese and bread. Sadly it isn't a tight connection and then the shaft stuck to the slicer blade. It's a flop.

Not happy with this

By ackrondeb

from Federal Way Wa

Comments about KitchenAid Rotor Slicer With Shredder:

Tried to slice carrots. I used both thicknesses and both turned out about the same. Bits and pieces. Had a few slices, but most pieces. Plus it spit everything out onto the floor instead of the bowl. I had to hold the bowl right under it and press on the hopper thing at the same time. Needed 2 people to use it. Don't want to try it on anything else. I really believe it would make mush out of anything softer than a carrot.

Horrible slicer

By Adam

from Texas

Comments about KitchenAid Rotor Slicer With Shredder:

I got this for free when I bought my kitchenaid stand mixer. Used it first to spread some potatoes for hash browns. The shredding aspect of this actually works pretty well. Shredded a few potatoes quickly. Nothing stuck so clean up was a breeze. Hash browns came out perfectly.

Decided to try the slicer to make some potato chips. This is where this product falls flat. It was absolutely horrible. My slices were all a different constantly and some of it ended up as mush.

If you plan on using this for slicing, save yourself a few bucks and get a nice mandoline instead.

Attachment cracks

By BekkaA

from Ropesville Tx

Comments about KitchenAid Rotor Slicer With Shredder:

I've had my Rotor Slicer/Shredder for 4 yrs but the plastic next to attachment to mixer is cracking ready to break off. My mom has an old metal attachment that is still working great after all these years. I only used it for shredding cheese because vegetables turn mushy and watery. I spent over $1,000 on several attachment accessories for my mixer trusting the brand. I don't have issues with other attachments this is my first real issue. My cones are in great shape and the rotor except the crack area is fine. See photos. Very disappointed with this. Shedder wasn't cheap.

Poor Ergonomics

By Lisa

from chicago

Comments about KitchenAid Rotor Slicer With Shredder:

This product needs to be redesigned. Assembly is difficult, frustrating, and often unsuccessful. See photos. When attaching the slicing cylinders, the consumer has to grip a thin metal rim and twist into another part which is a friction fit. In my case, the friction fit was too tight and I was only able to use one of the slicing cylinders. I tried to wear gloves, but the gloves ripped and my fingers were in pain. I have to worked in a deli, and also a restaurant kitchen and I have experience with cutting and slicing equipment. I can tell you that this kitchen aid product poses a risk of somebody injuring themselves during assembly. (I have additional photos)

Very disappointing

By Jen S

from Alberta, Canada

Comments about KitchenAid Rotor Slicer With Shredder:

I received this attachment as a Christmas gift from my husband. We were very excited to use it for the first time to make pizza and we're so disappointed with it. Pepperoni turned to crumbles, red peppers, cheese, everything to mush. Tried different speeds, different pressure and nothing helped. The blades need to be sharper! I contacted KitchenAid and was told I just needed to use fresh fruits and vegetables and peel the cucumber skins and freeze the cheese first...etc...shouldn't have to do all those extra steps for it to work properly! I think KitchenAid should refund for this product or send out new ones with a better design and sharper blades.

Love it for grating cheese

By Marie B

from Ithaca, NY

Comments about KitchenAid Rotor Slicer With Shredder:

I have arthritis in my hands, and the main reason I wanted this set was to grate my own Romano and Parmesan cheese. Pre-packaged grated cheese has a lot of added fillers including Cellulose Powder (that's right - wood pulp). Now, I haven't used it for anything else but but to me it was worth every penny.

Shredder produces mush instead of cole slaw.

By New kitchenaid owner

from Corbin, KY

Comments about KitchenAid Rotor Slicer With Shredder:

Just purchased a new KitchenAid KP26M1PSL Professional and the KitcenAid Mixer Attachment Pack w/ RVSA, FGA & FVSP. Tried to make coleslaw for Christmas with the course shredder. I do not know if it is not made correctly or what but it is soo dull all I got was a mush of cabbage and carrots. The fine shredder and both slicers fill sharp. They have been sharpened. This one is just blunt stamped out metal that is as dull as a froe. Do not know if I can sharpen it or not.

Works well but housing short lived

By VW

from Central Texas

Comments about KitchenAid Rotor Slicer With Shredder:

Works well but after several years the base of housing cracked where the metal fitting attaches to the mixer.. It split at two locations. Compared the aluminum grinder attachment my parents purchased in 1948 and is still going strong, 2 years life out of a plastic piece is unacceptable.
