Leaks Like Crazy

By jbw12soc

from Nazareth PA

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

First use was great. Since then water pours out of the rear of the machine. This is not a subtle dribble but rather a soaking spigot. I looked and found this is a common problem with this device. There is a hole in the back of the machine and the water will pour right out of it when you lower the handle to use the machine. I'm not sure what the function of this hole is but it makes using this product terrible. I bought this one because it was the nicest non commercial cleaner at Home Depot on their shelf. I wish I would have researched it a bit more because there are many comments about this leaking issue. Before the leaking started the machine worked wonderfully. Too bad it wasn't designed to continue to work.

Unhappy customer

By Ms Green

from California, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

This unit was used twice and is useless. The plastic pin that drives the bristles is broken and it doesn't appear on the Hoover list of available parts. I will not purchase another Hoover carpet cleaner or vacuum. Poor quality.

Back of cleaner leaks a ton of water all over

By Mindee1322

from Kansas City, KS, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

Bought this less than 2 years ago and have only had to use it a couple of times. It leaks water out of the back of the machine the entire time you use it and it leaks out all over the floor even when the handle is upright. I end up cleaning up a puddle of water where ever I go with this machine.

Waste of Money! Broke after two uses.

By Klokdr

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I bought this machine about 4 months ago, I live in a one bed-room 800 sqft home; only the bed-room is carpeted and there is a small area rug. The first use I had to mess with the dirty water tank for 45 minutes before it would pick up the water, next I notice that the brushes are not moving. I gave it the benifit of the doubt and cleaned it up for the next use. The carpet remained wet for hours, I don't want to think about the amount of dirt that stayed in the carpet. The next time I tryied to use it, the brushes was completely broke, it would not pick up any water, and I have figured out that the only place this machine will be of any service is the city dump!! I will never buy another Hoover product!

Loved it...while it worked!

By BMW1288

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I bought this less than a year ago and it randomly stopped spraying and suctioning water up from the bottom. The attachment works fine but i don't have the time to attachment clean my entire house. I've taken it apart multiple times, cleaned it, and it still isn't working. So disappointing because this was a great cleaner while it worked!

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I have had several hoover products over the years and when I saw this one, I could not wait to buy it. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! I am having the same problem with the valve leaking. It leaks so bad, that I have gone through an entire bottle of hoover carpet cleaning solution -- this is after only one use. The valve becomes stuck and you have to poke at it to unstick it. I had the unit on rinse only and the detergent poured out. I now have soapy carpeting and will need to have some one come out and professionally clean my rugs. Very disappointed in Hoover. WORST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER HAD BY HOOVER.

Very Disappointed

By WendyM526

from Murfreesboro, TN, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I bought this carpet cleaner about 3 years ago. The only carpet that is in my house is in a guest room and an area rug. It had been used about 3 times after I first bought it when the brushes stopped spinning. I called Hoover to find out that I had to take it to an approved repair place that was 45 minutes away from where I lived. I took it there and it stayed a few weeks. After picking it up, when I went to use it, then it wouldn't suck the water up. I couldn't help but laugh. Obviously, I wasn't calling the repair place back because I didn't have the energy to drive to downtown Nashville again for another repair and then to drive back to get it again. My time is more valuable. After spending over $200 on this item from Best Buy and the time and gas that had been spent taking it for repairs, I was over it. It seems that the lid on the tank is missing a spring or something. I haven't decided if I'm going to purchase this part as I would rather chuck this thing in the trash and go buy a Bissell.

Worst Hoover carpet cleaner I have ever owned

By Ky1106

from Coeur d'Alene, ID, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I have now had my Hoover Extract 60 carpet cleaner for a couple of years. I HATE it!! I had a hoover before and absolutely loved it. It had great suction and did a good job cleaning, unfortunately after 15 years, it died on me. This one is HORRIBLE at sucking up the water. In fact, half the time it isn't sucking up any!! The bladder that the water goes into doesn't seem to fit snugly and you have to mess with it to get it to fit and finally start to suck. Needless to say, I am in the market for a new carpet cleaner.

It broke after a few uses

By Nonna

from Atlanta, GA, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I had an older model for years and replaced it with the Max Extract. The tiny little valve in the bottom of the detergent side of the tank broke and fell out after only using it a few times. I was told I had to replace the whole tank unit because they don't sell the little valve. So, I bought a whole new tank unit. The second time I used it - the valve was broken - the spring on it was gone and thus as I poured in the detergent, it ran out all over the counter. I wish I still had my old one.
