Very Disappointed

By WendyM526

from Murfreesboro, TN, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I bought this carpet cleaner about 3 years ago. The only carpet that is in my house is in a guest room and an area rug. It had been used about 3 times after I first bought it when the brushes stopped spinning. I called Hoover to find out that I had to take it to an approved repair place that was 45 minutes away from where I lived. I took it there and it stayed a few weeks. After picking it up, when I went to use it, then it wouldn't suck the water up. I couldn't help but laugh. Obviously, I wasn't calling the repair place back because I didn't have the energy to drive to downtown Nashville again for another repair and then to drive back to get it again. My time is more valuable. After spending over $200 on this item from Best Buy and the time and gas that had been spent taking it for repairs, I was over it. It seems that the lid on the tank is missing a spring or something. I haven't decided if I'm going to purchase this part as I would rather chuck this thing in the trash and go buy a Bissell.

Worst Hoover carpet cleaner I have ever owned

By Ky1106

from Coeur d'Alene, ID, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I have now had my Hoover Extract 60 carpet cleaner for a couple of years. I HATE it!! I had a hoover before and absolutely loved it. It had great suction and did a good job cleaning, unfortunately after 15 years, it died on me. This one is HORRIBLE at sucking up the water. In fact, half the time it isn't sucking up any!! The bladder that the water goes into doesn't seem to fit snugly and you have to mess with it to get it to fit and finally start to suck. Needless to say, I am in the market for a new carpet cleaner.

It broke after a few uses

By Nonna

from Atlanta, GA, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I had an older model for years and replaced it with the Max Extract. The tiny little valve in the bottom of the detergent side of the tank broke and fell out after only using it a few times. I was told I had to replace the whole tank unit because they don't sell the little valve. So, I bought a whole new tank unit. The second time I used it - the valve was broken - the spring on it was gone and thus as I poured in the detergent, it ran out all over the counter. I wish I still had my old one.

Broken drive pin

By Lee M

from Pennsylvania

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I have the same reviews as many others. Used the MaxExtract 60 twice and was very happy with the results. But, on the third use, I noticed the brushes were not spinning. Upon inspection, I discovered the very flimsy drive pin to the brushes was sheared in two. Seems to be a very common problem that has not been adequately addressed by Hoover.

By JeannieB

from Springfield, IL, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I have had my Hoover less then 6 months. I first time I used my Hoover I cleaned my bathroom carpet and the it turned out immaculate. The second time the brushes stopped turning. Making the carpet cleaner useless. I had high hopes because of the reviews I read.

Waste of money

By fedupwithhoover

from Lexington, KY

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

Terrible carpet cleaner comes with terrible customer service. I bought this carpet cleaner and the first one leaked terribly. I took it to the repair shop Hoover told me to take it to and waited a month with no word back and unreturned phone calls. Finally, Hoover just sent me a new cleaner. This one also stopped working for different reasons. The dirty water tank has a defective, poorly designed handle that swings over to lock the lid down. Which also after very little use chewed the pegs off on the side that the handle swung around leaving the lid just sitting on top with no pressure. They told me it must have been my fault and I could buy a new one. The internet was full of the same problem. Next the brushes stopped working. Don't waste your money! Buy something else!

DON'T BUY

By Jasmina

from Cedar Park, TX, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

Don't buy this. I used just a twice when I bought this cleaner. Then I didn't need to use because I didn't have a carpet, and today (because we moved in another house) and cleaner - does not work! Cleaner is not under warranty anymore, and now I can throw away money which I spent. I used just a twice to clean 3 bedrooms. Just a twice! DON'T BUY THIS!

Tank Assembly

By Lorenzo

from Oklahoma City, OK, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I purchased model # FH50220 Series BJ10.0 approximately 6 months ago. I have only used the machine twice and the tank is now leaking from the plunger/spring assembly on the bottom of the tank. This seems like a defective tank design. Any thoughts on how to fix this problem?

Like it but leaks out of the hose.

By HockeyMom12

from Post Falls, ID, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I purchased this carpet cleaner in May 2012. I have used other brands and do like that it is easier for me to use. I did have a problem a few months after purchasing with the tank and springs. Hoover quickly fixed it for me and sent me a replacement tank w/springs. I do like it. Just outside of the 2 year warranty, my hose starts leaking when I use the main carpet cleaning machine. I cannot afford to have it fixed but am hoping there is something I can do to fix it. I am frustrated cause I can't afford to buy a new one. Any suggestions? I would give it more stars if it gets fixed.

Carpet is too wet afterwards

By Ruben

from Grovetown, GA, United States

Comments about Hoover MaxExtract60 Pressure Pro:

I had an old Hoover that worked great, I replaced the motor once after years of use, the second time just decided to buy a new one assuming will be better and improved and got this model. It works and cleans and the cleaning attachment works better than the old one, but as far as the vacuum using it, leaves to much water on the carpet and of course the dirt in it. I'm not new using this and consider myself very good at it, but on this one out of a full canister of water and detergent only get 1/3 of it back on the cleaner and of course the other 2/3 stay in the carpet. Which means that is just picking up 1/3 of the dirt it could, know will be impossible to pick up the whole tank back in the cleaner, but even in the bare floor leaves a lot of water!!! I hope they could build the old one again.
