GE bottom-freezers like the GE PDCS1NCZLSS are uniquely configured to put fresh foods within convenient reach. the icemaker is awful

By cacs

from Long Island, NY

Comments about 20.9 CuFt Counter Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator:

The icemaker is the worst. It knocks off the ice cubes into an abyss where they can never be retrieved. They also don't separate but are still linked when they fall into the bin. You'd think someone would have tested the design but apparently not. Also the top part of the freezer drawer should come forward automatically since that's most frequently used, but you have to pull it out (and then the top layer of cubes goes kaboom into the nether regions).

Not Durable

By Anonymous

from Rochester Hills, MI, USA

Comments about 20.9 CuFt Counter Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator:

Seals break away easily, ice maker is below average and the useless contraptions insided the door (can holder etc.) leave alot to be desired. What ever happened to good old fashioned shelving that was actually useful. The temperature is great in the freezer as well as the refrigerator portion.

Like the counter depth.

Comments about 20.9 CuFt Counter Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator:

It takes some getting use to as far as space is concerned, but once you get used to the space and how you can move the shelves around food fits quite well. It is quiet and seems to be very efficient.

l do not like the bottom freezer. Bad design, hard to use.

By Becky355

from Gloucester, Va

Comments about 20.9 CuFt Counter Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator:

I do not like the bottom freezer. Bad design, hard to use. I also found out the hard way that it needs to plug into a serge protector to guard against power surg damage to the "mother board". This should be highlighted in the owners book/manuel when you buy it. I will not buy one of this type again.

Nice looking but lacks space for normal food

By Zelmo

from Columbus, OH

Comments about 20.9 CuFt Counter Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator:

Nice looking but has wasted features for food storage. The egg holder is difficult to load and use. You should be able to take holder out for easy use and storage. It has too many shelves so I had to take out several. The vegetable/fruit bins are confusing and too small for normal head of lettuce which I must squeeze down to fit making it difficult to open. The can container has never been used and would not hold enough cans to matter. It froze all my food on the top shelf making me lower the temperature which effects my other food. The ice maker still puts that awful smell and taste on the ice which I never use and have to buy Ice in bags. Not enough space in unit to store hardly any food for 2 people, I cannot imagine what I would do for a family of 4 or 5. Shelves and drawers broke within 9 months. Made me appreciate my older unit. On the plus side it is quiet.
