Stylish smudge resistant stainless steel

By libhaven

Comments about Frigidaire 27" Built-In Wall Oven:

Replacement for 1970's harvest gold 26" double oven. Great features, easy controls and a breeze to clean. Of note are the multiple rack positions, dual interior lights and quick pre-heat. A helpful word of caution when using convection bake/broil...it is faster than the times called for in most recipes so monitor your food closely as it works nicely. This oven is not completely silent as a slight whirring noise can be heard whenever the fan is in use...not to worry, it is all normal noise from a working oven. Broiled steaks after purchasing Frigidaires searing grate, all were great. I have not used the temperature probe yet. If I use the ovens much more than I currently do, I may wear them out before the warranty expires. Great ovens, nicely done Frigidaire.

Great Oven

Comments about Frigidaire 27" Built-In Wall Oven:

Installed the oven last month. Replaced a 24 inch oven with this 27 inch oven (had to enlarge the opening in the cabinet). My wife loves it, and used the steam cleaning feature within the first two weeks. She doesn't cook much now because of her work, but uses the oven whenever she does cook.

nice looking, lots of features

Comments about Frigidaire 27" Built-In Wall Oven:

I have only used it for two weeks. I like the quick pre heat, it heats up to temperature in less than 5 minutes. The oven temperature seems accurate and uniform. I like to clean modern look. The electronics cooling fan is very noisy, it either has a bad bearing or is out of balance. The sheet metal surrounding the fan and electronics are very thin gauge and are vibrating. I have been out of town and have not had tome to call for service. Hopefully they can replace it.

Quiet

By Segundo98

from SW PA

Comments about Frigidaire 27" Built-In Wall Oven:

Was a replacement to an existing oven that died due to power surge. The oven works good and is much quieter than the original, even when using the convection feature. Nice touch is the built in rack handles which make pulling loaded rack out much easier. The "control panel" takes a bit to get used to and the manual is not very clear on some functions. Temp seems to run a tad high, just turning it down 10 degrees seems to work, which was the same as the original that it replaced from a different mfg.

Overall very good and very good value, but.....

Comments about Frigidaire 27" Built-In Wall Oven:

This oven fit perfectly in our cabinet opening that was 23 years old. It installed easily, looks great, and seems well made. The oven lights are bright and make the food quite visible. My wife loves this. However, there are some trends now in modern ovens that have both pros and cons. For example, older built-ins were prone to overheat the electronics over time. Newer ovens have much better air flow to prevent this but this comes at the cost of fan noise. We thought one of the fans in this oven was excessively loud so we made a local service call. We were told a new version of the fan is quieter and we are awaiting that part. The service guy was very helpful and friendly and all of this will be fully covered under warranty. Another trend is how newer ovens don’t have an exposed heating element at the bottom. This makes the oven much easier to clean. However, it can also increase pre-heat time. This oven cleverly uses the convection fan to assist the pre-heat stage so it pre-heats quickly. But if you even briefly open the door and cause the oven temp to drop, we have found that the convection fan does not engage after the initial pre-heat stage, so the oven might take quite a while to reach the original temp. This can impact cooking times. I would like to see a solution for this because toothpick tests are often a necessity when baking. Lastly, the timer is great and convenient to use, but we would love a single beep at the 1-minute-left mark. Our old oven did this and we both liked this feature.
