Dyson
The Dyson Ball upright vacuum cleaner has the strongest suction of any vacuum It uses Radial Root Cyclone technology and a reconfigured brush bar to remove more dirt and dust from the home. The redesign of the brush bar means that the bristles have been made shorter and stiffer allowing deeper carpet penetration to remove more dirt, while maintaining superior performance on hard floors.

The Dyson Ball has better overall performance than any other vacuum. The Dyson Ball vacuum pickup performance has the highest geometric average when carpet, hard floor and creviced hard floor results are combined. Tested against the upright market, dust-loaded. It achieves this through the combination of Radial Root Cyclone technology and a self-adjusting cleaner head which seals in suction across carpets and hard floors.

The latest Ball technology allows easy steering into difficult places. More key technologies are housed inside the ball, reducing components on the outside of the machine. Removing clutter from around the ball makes it even easier to steer under and around furniture. Other vacuums have a choice of settings for different floor types. This means that when moving from one floor type to another, suction power can be wasted. Dyson Ball has an active base plate which self-adjusts to create optimal contact with every floor type. This reduces air leaks and retains more suction power at the cleaner head.

Comments about Dyson Ball Multi Floor Upright Vacuum:

Right from the start it's a no-brainer! Very quick and easy to assemble (i.e. stress-free). So lightweight and easy to use; easy to dump cannister. And simply unbelievable what has been coming out of my carpet! I cannot thank you enough for such a wonderful vacuum. Highly recommended.

This was a gift, and am delighted with it. Heavier than my usual one, but that is offset by the absence of dog hairs on the carpet. Will get a lot of use.

Dyson Ball Multifloor 2

Comments about Dyson Ball Multi Floor Upright Vacuum:

I have a long-haired miniature dachshund that sheds a lot. I recently vacuumed my house with my old vacuum cleaner. When I received the Dyson Ball Multifloor 2 vacuum, I swept my house again. I was amazed with how much more dirt the Dyson was able to pick up! The Dyson was lightweight, easy to assemble, and easy to use. It was great on the carpet as well as the hardwood and tile floors. The only thing I can think of to improve the Dyson Multifloor 2 would be to have a retractable cord. I am going to give my old vacuum cleaner to my son.

Amazing and powerful machine

Comments about Dyson Ball Multi Floor Upright Vacuum:

I am very pleased to have this amazing Dyson, very powerful and lightweight for the suction it has. It lifts the nap on our short shag carpet, plus it glides on the hardwood floors, vinyl, and ceramic tile. Very efficient and easy to use. With the extra long cord I can clean all the rooms on the main floor without unplugging it. No bag to mess with, just hit the button and empty the canister. Dyson vacuums are simple and extremely effective.

I honestly love this vacuum

Comments about Dyson Ball Multi Floor Upright Vacuum:

I received the Dyson Multi Floor 2 and was requested to review it. The following is my honest assessment of the product. I already own a Dyson Multi Floor (original) vacuum and have used it for several years. I find that there are not a lot of differences between the original and the newer multi floor. The newer one is slightly heavier but it also has a slightly larger bin to hold debris. The power cord seems to be the same length as well as the wand reach, and the design is very much the same. I did, however, notice that the suction power was a lot better in the multi floor 2 and I thought the original one had great suction power. My one complaint (the same for any bagless vacuum) is that if you are vacuuming a lot of hair (like from a dog) then that gets caught up in the container and it is difficult to empty without shaking it and thus stirring up the dust.) I use a hook device cut off from a hanger to help grab and pull the air out. I am not one to use my hands for that. But that is my only issue. Overall I truly believe that the Dyson is the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. I love the Dyson multi floor (original and 2) because of its ease of switching from one type of floor to another. I use this on carpet (both deep pile and not as deep), hardwood floors, vinyl, ceramic and porcelain tile and laminate flooring. I also have a dog that sheds quite a bit in the spring. The Dyson Multi-Floor 2 does a great job of cleaning all of these floors and is easy to use. The control is right there to switch between carpet and not carpet; the wand detaches swiftly and easily and allows you to reach those harder to reach places. The wand detaches at the top so you’re not kneeling down to the bottom of the vacuum like you do for other brands to get to it. It takes a few turns to get used to the way this vacuum moves but after a bit you’ll find that it is so much easier to vacuum with the ball than a straight back and forth style. It is easy to take it apart for cleaning. Best of all, you don’t have to purchase filters or bags! I have used other vacuums in the past but this is my absolute favorite. I highly recommend this product.

Very good vacuum, but not for everyone.

Comments about Dyson Ball Multi Floor Upright Vacuum:

Overall, the Dyson is a very good vacuum with a lot of ease when it comes to overall use and maintenance. It is extremely easy to empty the chamber and to clean the filters. This is great because I'm more apt to maintain something if its not tedious therefore prolonging its longevity. This Dyson is quite powerful, maybe too powerful. It was awesome on our low pile rugs. Seemed to pull itself forward probably due to the rotating brush. It would be perfect for a house with a lot of low pile carpeting. Unfortunately, we have mostly hard wood floors and a lot of long pile/shag rugs. It works great for most hard wood floor applications except for larger crumbs. The auto-adjusting plate on the vacuum head creates more suction for various floors but it also limits the size of the debris that can be sucked up. We have a young child and a baby so there are food crumbs, i.e. cheerios, everywhere which can only be picked up by a small hose attachment and not the vacuum head itself. Takes a lot longer. As far as the longer pile/shag rugs are concerned it becomes quite the chore. It seemed to suck itself to the rugs and took a lot of effort to push/pull. I'm an average sized male and I seriously doubt that my mother would be able to do all our shag rugs without getting winded. For four years I have owned a Dyson DC40 which seems to have the same size body and weighs less due to the smaller vacuum head. It seems to have a little less suction probably due to the smaller head but that means its a lot more maneuverable. What's the point in more suction if it takes too much effort to move? The larger head of the Multifloor 2 is taller/thicker than the DC40 as well. It didn't fit under our kitchen and bathroom cabinets so I was forced to use the attachment hose. Another downfall is that the plastic handle, which is made up of two plastic parts, feels like it will break or crack at the seams. The DC40 has the same handle but since it's lighter and doesn't suck itself to rugs as much the DC40 doesn't feel like it's going to break. This is a complaint I have for both Dyson vacuums in general. There are too many plastic parts that feel like or will break with a little too much force or if dropped. Overall, it seems to be a very good vacuum but for our household needs I prefer the DC40.

Annoying Lines in Carpet.

Comments about Dyson Ball Multi Floor Upright Vacuum:

After using Dyson vacuum cleaners for approx the past 10 years, I purchased this particular model last November. I never checked the reviews as I have never had any problems in the past until now that is. How I wish I had. No mater what I do it leaves lines in the carpet which are so unsightly and and annoying. This has now put me off purchasing any Dyson again, because it looks like this has been an issue for a long time and nothing has been done to correct it. Definitely a thumbs down!!!!

This review is based on ...

Comments about Dyson Ball Multi Floor Upright Vacuum:

This review is based on comparing my older DC25 to this new Multifloor 2. In other words, it's the pros and cons of the Mulitfloor when compared to the DC25. PROS: -Much longer cord than the DC25. This might seem trivial, but it was always very frustrating not even being able to make it down a hallway without the cord pulling out of the outlet -End of the cord has a clip so that the end of the cord does not flap around. With the DC25, after wrapping up the cord on the vacuum when done, the end (the actual plug) would just flap around. Might seem like a minor issue, but when it swings around and chips paint, it becomes a bigger issue. No longer an issue with the Multifloor 2. -Ridiculous suction. I was already happy with the section of the older DC25,especially compared to Hoover it replaced, the but this one is outrageous. I assembled the new vacuum on top of a medium-size area rug, and as soon as I turned it on, it sucked up the rug and jammed the rotating brush. Luckily Dysons automatically sense this and turn off the brush so the motor doesn't burn out. So I recommend you pay attention to what you're vacuuming in order to avoid this... but it's a trade-off I'm fine with; paying a little extra attention to have the addition dirt-sucking power. -The rotating brush/bristles do seem to dig deeper than the DC25's. I have no way of knowing for sure, but based on the "thwapping" sound and the pattern left on the carpet, it does seem to be digging in more - which seems like a good thing when the goal is to get up dirt. CONS -It weighs exactly the same as the DC25. For some reason, I expected it to be lighter. I suppose this isn't really a con, as I'm fine with/used to the weight of the old Dyson. -It feels a little flimsy. Initially I chalked this up to it being lighter and hence made out of lighter and potentially flimsier materials. But now knowing that it isn't any lighter, I'm not sure. Maybe it was just designed to flex more/be less rigid. Again, I'm comparing to the DC25, which feel like a tank. Only time will tell if it's just as rugged as the old vacuum. Overall, I'm quite happy with it. It's got amazing suction, and while it does weight the same as the old, it feels less unwieldy. If this were my first Dyson, I don't think I'd have any complaints at all.

Amazing Suction!

By RammerJammer

Comments about Dyson Ball Multi Floor Upright Vacuum:

Assembly is quick and easy and I was ready to start vacuuming in no time. For comparison purposes, I first vacuumed my master bedroom with my old vacuum (made by another company). Then, I used my new Dyson and went over the exact same area that I just covered. I was shocked at the amount of dust that the new machine lifted from my carpet. As a family with allergies, I know this will help improve the health of everyone in the house. The Dyson transitions smoothly from carpet to hardwoods. It is lighter than any other vacuum I have ever owned and is easy to maneuver with only one hand. Concern: The suction is so great that I have issues with an oriental rug in my living room. As the vacuum transitions from the hardwood floor to the carpet, the suction is so strong that the brush bar stops spinning and vacuum sticks in place to the carpet. When you lift the vacuum, the rug lifts up with it and so you must turn off the machine. I own another Dyson (DC65) and never experienced this issue on the same rug. I don’t experience this problem going over two other oriental rugs I own, but can’t get the Dyson to work on my living room rug.
