Excellent first machine

By Juengst

from West Coast of Arizona

Comments about Brother 59 Stitch Free Arm Sewing Machine:

I am not a seamstress and this is an excellent machine for me! It is easy to set up and operate and the instruction book make it extra easy to learn how to sew with a machine.

I like it!

By Petiroja

from Kansas

Comments about Brother 59 Stitch Free Arm Sewing Machine:

The fact that this sewing machine is so much lighter than my old one is very nice...much easier to carry and get set up to use. I love the easy to use bobbin and really have enjoyed using the machine. The only thing I am having a hard time adjusting to is the location of the pressure foot lever and thread cutter. On my previous machine they were in a different location and apparently I developed the automatic response of expecting them to be in the same places on this machine. Time to break that habit!

So far, so good

By Bullfeather

from Tallahassee, FL

Comments about Brother 59 Stitch Free Arm Sewing Machine:

Appears to be excellent quality, especially for the exceptionally low price. Got this for my grandchild for her 11th birthday and she seems to be having no problems learning to sew with this machine. I used it for awhile before giving it to her and am very happy with this product.

Good buy!

By LadyMacTavish

from Littlerock, CA

Comments about Brother 59 Stitch Free Arm Sewing Machine:

Overall, this is a fairly decent sewing machine for beginners. My eyesight is not as good as it once was so I especially like the feature which assists in threading the machine! It is easy to set it up, and bobbin winding is wonderful. What I do not like about this machine is the food pedal: it moves around while I'm sewing. That may not be a problem if one is sewing in a room with carpeting or a rug, but it does cause problems in a room with linoleum flooring.

Brother Makes Great Machines

By Jacque

from Sebring, Fl

Comments about Brother 59 Stitch Free Arm Sewing Machine:

For the price, this is a great machine. It would be a wonderful starter machine for young and old alike. It would also make a great travel machine if you have an RV or vacation home. The dials are simple to use as is the needle threading and bobbin. Is it quite? No, It is a manual machine not computerized. I purchased this as a spare. My beloved computerized machine is 15 years old which makes parts hard to find when it breaks. With this machine I can still make simple clothing repairs, make quilt tops or hem a pair of pants while my beloved machine is in the shop. My computerized machine is also a Brother.

Excellant ourchase

By Rubie2

from Pittsburgh, Pa.

Comments about Brother 59 Stitch Free Arm Sewing Machine:

I had a top of line Kenmore, purchased some 35 years ago, and reverse gear went. Rather than put money into repair, as I don't sew like I use to, I began a search for a reasonable machine I could use for little projects. I researched several, & decided for the price & what was offered,(most of which I was looking for) this machine was a good choice. I might change some things, or add some, but for what I needed the machine for, it really fills the bill. Had some issues at first, but worked everything out ok. Have added some extra presser feet. All in all, I am very pleased with this machine & would recommend it to anyone looking for a basic sewing machine.
