Comments about Elite 550 Watt 7.2 Channel Audio/Video Receiver:
I was just lucky that this product failed upon intallation because otherwise I would have been stuck with an inferior product with a remote control from HELL. Remote was very difficult to use, way too many buttons, buttons way to small, too small ergronomically and visually to function efficiently. Set-up Complicated.
The speaker connections on back of receiver also difficult to use as the red and black were stacked (double)and rows very close leaving very little space to function. Just very poorly designed. Compared to the Onyko, where the connections are in a singular row across the bottom for easy access.
I returned the Pioneer Elite and bought an Onkyo which is far and away superior. Lucky me that the Pioneer Elite failed. Otherwise I may have been stuck with the Pioneer. I am very pleased that I was able to return the Pioneer with no hassle from Brandsmart, where the staff determined that the unit was defective. Upon returning, I forgot to include the dreaded remote and Brandsmart allowed me to receive the credit and return the remote the following day. That remote should earn a perminent place in the "POORLY DESIGNED ELECTRONICS HALL OF SHAME".
