Comments about Yamaha 770 Watt 7.2 Channel Audio / Video Receiver:

I recently purchased a pair of Polk audio rti 12's and quickly realized that I needed an upgrade in power for these hungry speakers! When I finally got this receiver on line and powered up, I got the most pleasant surprise of my life. The pure direct function of this receiver has an extremely desirable effect by shutting down the other channel amps and powers only the front main speakers that I had bi-amped! Wow! I wish there was built in WiFi, because I will never own an apple product and air play is a waste to me!

Comments about Yamaha 770 Watt 7.2 Channel Audio / Video Receiver:

I bought this unit because I wanted the flexibility of analog and digital inputs including phono. Plenty of HDMI inputs with HDMI control was also wanted. The Unit performs above my expectations. I have Cable, phono, Bluray, CD and 2 computers hooked up to it. The internet radio is nice. I would recommend this Receiver to anyone.

Comments about Yamaha 770 Watt 7.2 Channel Audio / Video Receiver:

I was looking to reserect my turntable from 1975 and very few receivers at a reasonable price range had built in phono preamps. After reviewing the features of the 1020 I became more and more interested. It was purchased and connected to my assorted components. Prior to receiving the 1020 I studied the owners manual from the PFD file on line. This made the whole install process move quickly and provide instant satisfaction. Every room is different and i did follow the speaker set up using YPAO however most setting where changed. One of the most useful features is the TV on screen display of any function to either be adjusted or connected to. My room is now filled with great sound. I highly recommend this uint based on value, performance and ease of use, with that said, having some basic skills in a/v equipment is helpful.

Poor remote. Cannot see labels. Should be the size of a small I pad. A touch screen would really help. If you make one available ,please inform me.
A printed manual would be helpful. The CD is useless . What you charge for this unit a printed manual should be provided.

Comments about Yamaha 770 Watt 7.2 Channel Audio / Video Receiver:

I wrestled with choosing the RX-A1020 over the RX-A1030. In the end I decided the A1020 more than met my AV needs. I determined the added connectivity of the A-1030 was not of great importance to me. I have used Yamaha receivers for many years and have always been satisfied with the sound/power output and quality build. As an upgrade from my obsolete RV 1105 Yamaha receiver, I am again very satisfied with my Yamaha purchase. The A-1020 delivers great balanced sound. I found it reasonably easy to set up. The remote is not extremely user friendly but I have been able to do all the basic and advanced functions with a little practice. It is a perfect match with my Klipsch reference speakers and works well with my existing AV components. Overall, very satisfied.
