Comments about KitchenAid 36" Induction Electric Cooktop:

I'm stunned at how fast this thing cooks! I have been using an electric range with the heavy iron disks as heating elements. I hated it! Took forever to heat up then was way too hot to cook on. With the induction cooktop you can heat up rapidly then ramp down heat just like turning down the gas. Very granular control. Very clear, concise controls. We have yet to turn on the wrong "burner" which happened all the time with the old unit. You will have to get used to how fast this is and how much heat you can apply. There is a bit of getting used to it involved. Many complained they had pots they couldn't use. Since we knew we had to get new pot & pans we waited until the unit was in and we measured the sizes of the burners. We didn't buy ones that wouldn't work. Problem solved. Do not buy expensive sets before installation! I have two 'complaints': it can be hard to see the markings on the top showing where the pot should be. You want the pot centered somewhat for best performance and I sometimes have to move the pot to see the line then move it where it needs to be. Not a giant issue but it can be annoying in low light. My biggest complaint is the documentation. Why not give the burner sizes so people can get the right sizes since it's so critical? Why not explain why the pot size and placement is so critical? I still don't know if the pot is off center by an inch if it matters or why. All the book tells you is that you should be within a half inch of the burner size. The guy in the store said the pot needed to be at least 80% as big as the circle. What about too big? Does that matter? Why? All in all I really like this gizmo but a better user guide would improve the user experience by a lot in my view.

It won't recognize a pan that is 8" in diameter. Is there a way to modify sensor?

Since there is only my husband and I in the home it is easier to cook smaller quantities in smaller pans. Small pans absolutely do not work with this cooktop.

I love this induction cooktop! KitchenAid has done a wonderful job with this cooktop. I have never cooked on anything that heats so evenly and fast. You can boil water in a minute or so, and reduce the heat just as fast. I love the safety feature that only the pan/pot gets hot and not the entire surface. I will not go back to an electric or gas cooktop.

Comments about KitchenAid 36" Induction Electric Cooktop:

We are enjoying our induction cooktop, but at times there is a noise when heating that is odd. And our small pots will not work since they do not cover enough surface area of the burner to activate it, which is frustrating when you buy a large set of pots only to discover you are unable to utilize one of the frequently used sizes.

Installed stove 2 months ago. Stove works great but onlyif you have properly sized pots and pans. We purchased an expensive set of All-Clad pots and pans that are designed for induction tops, only to find out the smaller diameter sauce pans simply do not work on the stove top. So we now have an small sauce pan and skillet that came with the set, which are useless.

I am happy with the design of the cooktop and the ease of the controls. The use of a slider type unit for regulating the heat for the "burners" is a great feature. The controls have a nice sensitivity so that you don't have to fight with trying to get them to turn off or on. The placement of the side "burners" are very handy when using our cast iron grill. Thank you for a great product
