Bose®
The Bose© Wave© radio features award-winning Bose waveguide speaker technology for clear, high-performance sound. There are no large speakers. No towering rack of electronics. No wires to run around your room. Advanced Bose technologies inside this small system work together to fill the room with concert-like performance. The subtle inflections of the human voice become more accurate. Deep instruments like bass guitars and drums become more real. You enjoy the sound quality of a larger and more expensive multi-component stereo from a radio less than 15" wide that easily fits on a living room end table, kitchen counter or bedroom nightstand.

The Wave© radio has an advanced AM/FM tuner with text capability for song and artist information. For operational convenience, theres a slim credit card-style remote or simply touch the systems top for on and off, or to snooze the alarm. It also includes convenient station presets, a clock, and dual alarms with gently rising volume, an auxiliary input and a headphone jack. And if you add the optional Bluetooth© adapter, you can wirelessly stream music from your smartphone, tablet and other Bluetooth devices. Available in Platinum Silver.

    Bring back the Buttons!!

    By Paul

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Bose® Wave radio IV:

I have two of the original wave radio with CD player purchased in 2001. They have worked flawlessly. I visited this site to see what has changed and possibly upgrade if the changes met my desire. I wanted to add additional units to the guest bedrooms, and a new radio for the kitchen, ideally with Bluetooth capability. I am disappointed that these do not have the ability to control with manual buttons on the unit... only with a remote which is easily misplaced or lost! Furthermore, the unit in our bedroom -- with the manual control, is easy to reach and control from our bed without fumbling for a remote -- and I especially like having the ability to hit the snooze button or to initiate a timer for a quick nap! -- i.e. turn the radio on in 15 minutes!! In short, eliminating manual control is a big show stopper for me. Please bring back the BUTTONS!!

    SOME DETAILS DIASPPOINTING

    By late night listener

Comments about Bose® Wave radio IV:

I've had my Wave Radio for about 1.5 yrs. and it performs as advertised but I wanted to mention a few details that were disappointing. You have to use the remote for tuning and volume control. There is no external AM antenna; the radio has to be rotated to perfect the AM reception, and since the speakers are directional, this is a problem. Lastly, the power cord is not permanently attached to the back of the set but must be plugged in; the attachment is not very tight and moving the radio or even bumping against it may make you lose power.

    Great System

Comments about Bose® Wave radio IV:

I had the older generation of wave for about 5 years now, sound quality is still top notch but the design seems a bit dated if not obsolete. Glad I replaced it with the latest WAVE, its much more elegant than its predecessor.

I've had my Bose Wave radio for over a year now. I can't imagine going back to other brands. I especially love the Bluetooth adapter. I use the other auxiliary to connect to a TV.

    Revised Review

    By Great lakes Sailor

Comments about Bose® Wave radio IV:

Previous review indicated a need for external AM Antenna for finer tuning. Further troubleshooting indicated problem was caused by remote phone too close to Bose Unit .Relocating phone corrected problem(hiss). My bad...should know better than to question Bose engineering.

Control by remote only is a show stopper

    By glwndrr

Comments about Bose® Wave radio IV:

I have the original wave radio with CD player purchased in 2001. It has worked flawlessly. I visited this site to see what has changed and possibly upgrade if the changes met my desire. My desire is pretty simple, that being having memory in the unit so I can load my mp3's without having to hook up my mp3 player with all the associated wires and hardware, and the room all that takes up. Unfortunately, no joy here so I won't be upgrading anytime soon. What I did find was that Bose eliminated all the manual controls on the top of the unit. Now one can only control it by the remote. I currently never use the remote even though it still works (I think). One of the reasons I don't use it is it has bubble type buttons. Every device I've had with this style of button has failed - maybe I press too hard? So I stay away from anything that has this style of button. In short, eliminating manual control is a big show stopper for me.
